Im going tommorow to Cheang Wattana for ED extension. What kind of question are they asking? Will I be fine with just a bit of vocabulary and like 30% of the alphabet?

I guess it depends on whether you've been in thai language courses for 3 months or 3 years

New rules coming in for all visa's.

You can only get visas outside of your home country alternatly.

ie. one visa in home counrty, one in loas - next visa MUST be made in home counrty - Tourist Visa - Ed Visa - Non o's, b's etc..

so a year long ed visa would be impossible according to this? bc you have to renew it every 3 months?

if I were to buy a used 125 dirtbike and use it as my 'daily driver', what are the chances of it being stolen?

as in easily tossed the back of a thai pickup bc its lightweight and looks cool? (it would look like somewhere in between a 'beater' and a 'sleeper'

I am not sure what you are asking.

Every time you have to get a new visa - you will need to return to your home counrty - every other time-.

for exmaple. If the last time you got a visa was in Loas - the next time you want to apply for one, you will need to do it at a Thai consulate within your home counrty.

If the last visa you got was at a thai consulate in your home country, then you will be able to apply for one anywhere.

Why don't you just marry a Thai girl on paper if you want to stay for 4-5 years? Simply don't purchase a condo or bring any money into Thailand and divorce when you leave voila.

You see crazy **** like this in a lot of newspapers. It's fcked up but I don't think this is something that is typically Thai or can be called viral after 1 other group does it.

One of the requirements of getting a marriage visa extension is that you are bringing money into Thailand since you have to show proof of funds/income in a Thai bank account.

Also, it's going to cost you to get married even "on paper".

My bad, just asked in soi 11 pharmacy, they said I'd need a prescription. Googled it and found a thread saying you can just see a doctor, ask for it and buy from hospital pharmacy.

You just need to show legitimate income of 40k baht/month, so bringing that in the country shouldnt be a problem, as your monthly expenses are likely higher than that.

As Spiv says, you will of course have to pony up some money to the girl.

Also, immigration is of course aware of this, just the other day, about 200 people in Udon Thani were announced to get their visa revoked, because of sham marriage.

If you put a little effort into it and send 5-15k to a girl every year to be married on paper she'll be more than happy with it.

Bringing 40k into the country is peanuts since you'll blow at least twice that amount on soapies if you're just half a man.

You need 400k in a Thai bank account to qualify for a marriage visa extension. Which kind of brings the "don't bring any money into Thailand" part of your plan kind of moot. If you want to do it by income rather than a lump sum, then you need a letter from your embassy confirming your income, which you probably don't want to do for poker.

Then you will also be held over a barrel by a Thai girl for the entirety of your stay, she could just decide one day that 20k per year isn't nearly enough and your visa is gone.

A business visa would be a much better way to go about it. They are more expensive to get than an education visa (mostly because you first have to set up a company which involves around 30k baht worth of legal fees), but after that you don't have to rely on the whims of some random Thai girl to remain in the country. You'll be paying the money to a company instead, which is set up basically for no reason other than to facilitate business visas.

The only issue with the business visa is that you will still have to do visa runs every three months unless you are eligible for a work permit (which basically means your business has to employ some Thais too, and you will have to pay payroll tax).
