Yes you can take it in your suitcase and if the value is under x amount I'm not even sure if you have to declare it. You should be able to Google it easily. Sending silver through fed-ex is a terrible idea on many levels.

yeah I read it went up from 15 - 17.5%. pretty steep anyway.
Think I am going to forgot about bringing bars back as i'm not even sure i'd make profit anyway so we are going to buy the bars and get the lao factory to make the products and then sell wholesale to farrang customers and possibly have a physical shop in Mukdahan.
Yeah there must be better shipping options than FEDEX. Probably easier if in BKK as there is lots of jewellery shippers there.
Next month I am just going to take back a few hundred pieces that we decide to make. I think i'll just put it in my suitcase and declare in UK customs. Would suck if I didn't declare it and got pinched and confiscated. Then worry about future shipping if they seem to be selling successfully.
