According to your enquiry regarding about to transfer funds from overseas to Kasikornbank account, we would like to inform you that the correspondent bank will charge the sender of funds thus the charge rate will depend on the conditions of the correspondent bank. The beneficiary will also be charged by Kbank on the rate of 0.25% of the transferred amount (minimum 200 baht and maximum 500 baht)
Please note that, if you transfer to the account that already existing, the currency will be changed into Thai baht automatically. In addition, to transfer to branches outside Bangkok and vicinity, there will be additional fees, which are leased line fee of 20 baht per transaction, and 10 baht for each 10,000 baht transferred (minimum 10 baht and maximum 750 baht).
For the exchange rate of transferred fund from overseas, we would like to inform you that the exact exchange rate for international wire transfers are unable to be calculated since there will be changed fees from sender's bank so the exchange rate depends on the date when cleared funds is received in beneficiary's account. However, you can contact our officer at K-Contact Center Tel. (66) 2888 8800 and folllow the instruction then press 1 press 0 and press 2 from 8.30am to 16.30pm on working days in order to ask them to check or you can check exchange rate by visit www.kasikornbank.com >> Rates & Fees >> Currency Exchange Rate (TELEX TRANSFER).
telex rate seems to be 0.4-0.5% worse than xe.com rate
200-500 baht per transaction at 0.25% transferred amount so anything less than 80k baht will get charged 200 baht, 80k-200k 0.25% of the amount anything over 200k will be charged 500 baht
plus if you are outside bangkok (???), extra 20b/time + 10 baht per 10k so another 0.1%
so if i deciphered that correctly, a 100k baht wire to my phuket based acc would be charged 0.4% ish + 0.25% + 20baht + 0.1% = 670 baht
so i guess she forgot to mention a fee or two or the telex rate is usually a bit worse because it's never been that cheap
