Anyone else from UK thinking its probably better to register a Thai address now this new UK gaming law is coming about?

I already have Thai bank so should be fairly straight forward to me but I just don't want to loose my UK tax dodging privileges.

At the end of the year sure. Right now there won't be any difference. It just got postponed to November, so no change yet. I emailed and asked and they said when you relocate you'll have to make a new PS account and they'll transfer all your VIP stuff to your new .com account.

7% less stars VIP awards next year? LOL no, taxfree4life

Ive been emailing forwards and backwards with PS for the last hour or so, trying to work out whats the best solution here.

So far all I have worked out is that if I want to keep my .FR account open, I can register a Thai address and then I can still use the .FR account whilst I remain outside of the UK.

However, I think I am going to have to change my .COM account into a .UK account. I can do without playing on .FR on my visits to the UK, but not the main client.

I am currently trying to find out if I can have a Thai address registered with .FR, and a UK address registered with .COM/UK........watch this space!

Guy, if you find out any more information please post in the thread or send me a PM, cheers.

Actually, does anyone know if we are allowed to keep a .COM account, but register a .UK account also, so to get the best of both worlds?

The thai government been talking with major poker sites to help ban you guys and get you out of here, while living as defecto expats and funding your plastic playboy lifestyles by breaking Thai laws.

The Thai government can't even ban Pornhub, so I'm not too concerned yet.

What is going to be good about a .UK account? I thought it was going to be same player pool just less VIP rewards. If so then surely better to register Thai address before November so we don't have to switch?

I also got an email from Ipoker.fr saying I cant use the account any more.

I don't see why having a thai address would have anything to do with losing your UK tax privileges, as you are a still a UK citizen.

Curious where you learned this also. As of two days ago I suddenly couldn't login to Stars or even a bitcoin poker site using True fiber optic land line. I could login to other sites like 888 though. Funny 888 was still clear but not some obscure bitcoin site. I know it was a deliberate block because as soon as I set up a VPN problem was fixed.

Sounds good to me, so really there is no downside to staying .com while there is in switching to .uk but just further down the line it seems

I have had a problem with many sites recently on True and not just illegal ones. I think True is having some DNS issues. Also, there is major undersea link that is down at the moment so perhaps that is also something to do with it.

Cant you just have a Thai address on your .com account? Its not like you have to pay tax of poker winnings here in Thailand.

A genuine concern? What? That you are funding your lives in Thailand by breaking the law day in day out. Or the concern that one day it may be impossible to do so?

I wonder what country you will choose next to illegally squat in?!
