You should write up your experience and impressions of the biz. I was pretty surprised just how many developments were going up, and what the prices are these days.

The fact that you are posting here and asking kinda hints that even you are suspicious.

I know some rich 26 year olds and none of them need another friend to buy drinks for. Then again, if you have that shiny personality and people in general go out of their way to hang out with you, maybe it is legit. If you've got nothing to lose, then you might as well be careful and see what happens. But do try to avoid ending up on Locked Up Abroad, will ya?

My feeling is that if these guys have been in Thailand for a good while and are familiar with the place, then this will not end well. If they're some tourists who are finding themselves in an unfamiliar place and their guard is down, maybe it's not a scam.

Arriving in Thailand Nov 20th. I was planning on taping some bubble wrap around my 25" monitor and sticking it in my suitcase w/ my clothes, I'm not too concerned if it may get damaged.

But I can't remember if Thailand has any weird importing/tax rules, anyone foresee any issues I may have?

^standard I always travel like this bubblewrap not really needed if you have enough clothes either side.

Ony time you may get tax issues is if you have something boxed as new afaik.

According to my researches, there's no limits of how many time you can get the 30 days. I've read that the rule was 3 months per period of 180 days, but this rule doesn't apply anymore. Can anyone confirm this?

Also any problem withdrawing from Neteller to a Thai bank account?

Strange that Australia isn't on the list, especially as we recently extended our working holiday program to Thais, and are the only country that does so AFAIK.

lame question I know but i'm not sure just now if I am getting a work visa or not and I don't want to leave it too near to travelling so I may just get a tourist visa which I believe is 2 months with 1 month extension.

So I was thinking of going to Sydney at the end of march. Can I get the same kind of tourist visa in Sydney?(90days +60 days) for coming back to Thailand. I presume they have a thai consulate but will check that.

Also if you enter Thailand with no visa is it 1 month stamp? Oh and so I can also to a visa run visa mukdahan/lao and get another 1 month according to this latest news. So does that mean you can keep renewing every month at border crossings?

I'm a UK citizen.

sucks that they wont give it non immi visa anymore

A tourist visa is 60 days with the option of extending it for another 30 days. Some embassies/consulates issue multi entry, but not all.

Yes, as a UK citizen you get 30 days upon entering (visa exempt rule), and theres no official rule as to the max number of times you can do it.

thanks a lot beck...

I will check out the thai consulate in Sydney to make sure but sounds like I can just do a monthly visa run for the time being as I live on the mukdahan border

My whole (64 page) passport is full of entry and exit stamps into Thailand and no one has ever batted an eyelid at it. It's only one day stays mostly but I don't think it really matters.

you silly or something? I got requests asking for more info, so I responded with 100% of the info I had... If I knew **** about **** I wouldnt have posted anything about it in the first place.

the offer to come live with this guy and his girl was made, I said I was down but would have to find work, dude says he can get me a job selling real estate and its a cake walk, then some titties were put in my face and bourbon poured down my throat and that was the end of business talk

i'd say 60% chance it was just drunken talk, with zero follow up en route, 20% chance that the real estate talk is not worth my time and I'll end up just continuing cheffing around the world, ride this weird train till it goes off the tracks and go someplace else, and 10% chance it all goes as it was laid out to me

was basically just asking if you needed to be licensed and if it was a ****ty job, to which I got some good replies

I go across the muk/lao border a lot on a work visa and I used to worry about not having all relevant papers etc but they don't seem to give a crap apart from wanting my overstay if i'm over a few days. Never been asked any questions at all about where I live/work etc.

So i'm thinking that with this new 30 day visa I will be able to come and go every month without hassle. Just speculation ofcourse.
