Anyone managed to stay in Pattaya longterm and actually get some serious grinding done? I have tried and failed every time so far. Each time I tell myself that this time will be different. I'll play solid volume, I'll go to the gym, I'll stay in and grind 4-5 days a week... Yeah right. At this point I feel like an abused spouse who keeps coming back for more.

Surely it must be doable? What's the secret? Someone must have done it?

I dont grind but I work. Up until this weekend i didn't go out and get drunk for at least 14 days. I went to the gym 4 times per week and worked everyday. Its not like i have a boss to report to either, so i can do whatever i want when i want.

Obviously if i got drunk everyday and never worked i would have no money and be another washed up broke loser. I think caring what you look like defo helps with staying off the booze.

So I went to Vientiane Laos get a tourist visa like I usually do but this time I decided to take some pics. I've done this journey to death about 8 times but I always sleep well on the train and I don't bother with Cambodia anymore. Vientiane is a very sleepy capital but it's decent for food, not too expensive and cheap to get to, has beer Lao, and also hands out Thai tourist visas with minimal fuss.




$35 for the Laos visa on arrival.

Laos is a pain free and cheap visa run. Beer Lao is practically free at about 60฿ for a big one everywhere. The train from and to Laos is fun, and I always seem to meet interesting characters also on visa runs.

i never want to eat sausages, bacon, or these fried eggs in Asia. I want them runny, but it seems they just fry them at 10000c for 2 minutes and cook all the taste of them. I have not been to Vientiane, but already feel that I would get annoyed at the travlers who are passing there either on a visa run or just to busto and staying in Laos a bit longer to ride out there back packing trip.

hello i am landing at Suvarnabhumi airport tomorrow, do you guys have any good recommendations for where to stay around the area? i am moving to thailand and will have all my stuff with me. want to stay in a secure place and make my way down to phuket where i can hopefully find a place to live for the next 3-6 months.

and would you recommend booking a hotel in advance or just going from the airport and finding something?

just book a hotel with good reviews on agoda so you can give an address at the public taxi rank, 1st floor of arrivals as you leave suvarnabhumi airport

i dont see any reason to stay next to airport. go to the city or book ticket to phuket 2-3 hourse after landing.
