Yeah i find it easy to stay off the booze in patts.

Im always in holiday mode when i go to bkk.

I think i should re-state me statement.

If i lived in bkk full-time i could hold down a healthy lifestyle.

You're probably the only person to say that drink more in bkk than in patts. Cuz what else is there to do in Pattaya?

I think i re-qualified my statement well enough

I find living in Pattaya and staying off the booze very easy to do. Looking at those fat people in bar beers, moaning about the exchange rate is enough to keep me focused on my goals. With regards to staying healthy, wealthy and wise. It also makes going out all the more fun as you get that holiday vibe going. I've done those stints of being on it for 3-4 months at a time, good way back when but now it bores me. I prefer to accomplish something, and build myself up for 3-4 day benders every 2 weeks or so.

the end.

I have 7k+ posts and over 500k in trades via 2+2, I will vouch for him. (I've also traded with him before)

he's too busy sending people for checkups at Dr. BJs to have time for posting.

Rutang and Myironthumb pretty much stopped posting when PE joined too, so another thing we can blame on ****ing kaeks, along with the price of silver, the number of burmese immigrants and the taste of massaman curry.

actually found PE's blog useful for something. Hotels.

Was gonna come to bkk for scoop but have now realised that would be extremely -ev so will come the day after it finishes and i am on a high after binking a cpl of million baht.

I used to always stay at boss suite on soi 4 as it newish and do gr8 breakfasts and was reasonably priced and far away from all the action(although u stll have to walk past all that sh it everytime u wanna go somewhere which is a pain someimes). Anyway priced have gona up a fair bit so around 1600 a night and breakfast quality has gone down a bit so going to try somewhere new.

from PE's recomendation i want to try the Le Fenix Sukhumvit Hotel on soi 11 as its close to the action and get free entry into q bar and bed supper club and also the Le Fenix Sukhumvit Hotel at on nut which is only around 600 bht and i quite like staying n these kind of areas which does have the mongering environment. Also i can practic my thai on cute thai girls without being talked to in lao. The have 1in CM so i know hat to expect. seems good value.

prolly stay a week at imm then week at fenix..has anybody stays a fenix? any good? breakfasts, nice pool etc?

oh btw i also know cmason and have done trades with him. You wont have any problems.

maybe one day you will realize that not everyone uses this thread only to get information and that some people like to be entertained when they read it

just because you want this thread to be boring doesnt mean everyone else does to

Hey all, I have around 4-6 weeks of time I'd like to use for traveling through Thailand (and maybe Cambodia or elsewhere).

How would you break up your time with that limited schedule in May?

It seems like the major spots are:
Bangkok
Chang Mai
Koh Phangan (Full moon party May 25th) + Ko Samui islands
Phi Phi ??? It sounds like the western coast will have more problems with rain in May.
Angkor Wat in Cambodia

I'm not sure what path would make the most sense to avoid backtracking a lot, but obviously would want to time the southern islands with the full moon party.

Maybe something like this?
2 weeks in Bangkok and nearby surroundings
1 week in Chang Mai
1 week in the southern islands

Then head back to Bangkok and fly into Cambodia for Angkor Wat?

Also, any thoughts on how bad the rain will be in May? I'm seeing a lot of mixed reports. Some graphs show that it has the 2nd most rain of any month, but other reports say that it's usually just quick showers in the afternoon/evening. Other sources also state that the eastern part of the peninsula isn't too bad but the western is. (Which seems odd given that it's not that wide!)
