Was in Thailand when I was 15 (Samui) with my dad, fell in love with it then and all the madness I witnessed, only been once and I was pretty broke that time. Need to move to Thailand for the next year for sure, really wanted to for like the last 8 years when the time was right.

I bet on golf and am up almost $40k for the year so far (running too hot) and just love that most hotels I was at last time had the ****ing golf channel on their tv's. I must be like the only person to have ever visited the country and spent a considerable amount of time watching the golf channel in their hotel room.

Reading a few pages of the thread has given me that horrible jealous feeling anyways and convinced me to go as soon as possible. June I guess. Then I hopefully can post in this thread or even just read it without feeling bad for not being in the country.

How inaccessible are the degenerate parts of bkk if I were to book a room at some random hotel on Khoa San Road? Would I be better off looking for something at the outskirts of sukhumvit like On Nut if I'm not a backpacker?
