There are riots and strikes just about everywhere ( farmers in the north, fishermen in the south, middle class and transporters in bangkok ect... )
The new govt. wants to reform the constitution once again ( 6 months old ) one of their main modification would concern the exact thaskin case : if the reform is done thaskin can not only come back in Thailand like nothing happened but all the charges would be dropped and his money would be given back.
Recently a judge working on the case of high level politicians found 2 millions bahts in a lunchbox for "share", right in the middle of the tribunal. The guy who deposited the box is the lawyer of "a high profile politician closely linked to thaskin". It didn't calm the protesters ( united under the flag of the PAD People Alliance for Democracy, movt. linked to the socialist party )
Right now the parliament is under siege despite the 8000 policemen defending it.
Most people are waiting for a new coup in the next 6 months. This is only is the king survives, in case of death of the king stock sugar and first necessity supplies.
