I went down soi 6 today at 1pm all bars were open as usual. In fact i was surprised at how busy it was with girls, and assumed after high season is now calming down, lots have gone back to working the day shift.

anyone seen the free fights outside mbk mall on Wednesday starts at 6pm id imagine it to be pretty low quality fights, plan on going to see some good fights but havnt looked into it. might pop along to mbk in a bit as i have an all day bts ha.

Cool. Was down there around 3pm myself. Bars we're all open and girls around but a lot had no music, not drinking alcohol. There was police checking all the bars of a list and making sure nothing was happening. Seems like it will be back to normal in a week or two.

It's a whole new visa, it's definitely dodgy since it's not possible to apply for a new visa inside Thailand. If it's a 3-month extension to a 3 month tourist visa, I'd be very interested to find out how it works.

I've been out here on tourist visas for 3 years now. The first year was penang and kuala lumpur mostly. The second year was a mix of Cambodia and a triple entry tourist visa I got from visiting home. Third year has been Cambodia a bunch of times. In between I've just flown in/out to see different countries for a few days/weeks at a time but never bothered applying for visas - Philippines and Singapore.

You can see reports on the Thaivisa forum where people are getting them lately. And yeah, penang has a pretty bad reputation and so does hong kong actually. I never really heard of people having trouble with KL though unless it just started happening recently. Edit: Here is the link,

Also I wouldn't even consider doing this at all if I had to take buses to get around. That is pretty hellish.

Next year, if I end up staying out here which is a big question mark, I plan on checking out China, Korea and Vietnam. Also maybe India...

I think these trips will have a lot more life ev to them than knowing another language that I'll almost never use after leaving the country. But I can definitely see how people could have a different opinion on that from me, or just want to save the money. The trips are definitely not cheap...

breena: The fish oil here is ridiculously low quality from what I've seen. You have to look at the actual omega content as a % of the oil... the ones I found here is less than 20%, the ones I got online are over 50%. Guess you can just down 10 pills a day if you want though, lol.

if you eat mackeral and tippa fish, that should have enough fish oils here w/o the need for supps
