Why did I do it? It gives people in this thread an introduction of who I am and what I'm into, so I ended up getting a good sample of people on skype, who I've met in person and are interested in the same thing. i just went around Kata looking at places for a guy... best deals i thought were a basic 1br 1ba A/C room for 9k/mo, and a more nicely furnished one for 15k/mo... both of those places had internet, but you'd have to test them out to be sure they were good enough for grinding. if not, use an aircard or smartphone tether. I use AIS, others say True is fine. i'm guessing they both work decently in most places on the island.

I also know of a place in kata that you'll probably pay 15k/mo for plus bills. (it's 12k/mo with a contract) and it would require a deposit. it's a much roomier townhouse. no internet built in, but you could probably work a deal to share the neighbor's internet who is a poker player... or grind on an aircard. that place is a 2br, though the 2nd br is a single bed. pros to this place: extra bedroom, much roomier, an actual kitchen and living room. con: close enough to a major street that the noise might bother you when trying to sleep.

my first instinct is that you didn't call the number on the back of the card to alert them you would be travelling in asia, and so they froze the account.

I did not log into moneybookers since it should not work and if you try to login from Thailand your account will be frozen!

Was in Aussie and NZ before, no problems, same with eastern Europe last year!

I have about a 25% success rate withdrawing from bank machines. one of my cards used to work 100% but now doesnt work at all. Cash advances on my credit card have been working or me lately, though its very hit and miss as well.

just keep trying different machines, eventually you may find a combo that works. for me its credit card at a krungsgri.no clue why.

Pretty sure you can log into moneybookers no problem (i do). You just cant deposit into a gambling site using moneybookers while on thai IP.

It gets pretty good frame rates playing Skyrim on pretty high settings at 2560x1600.

I can ship it to anywhere in Thailand but you have to pay for shipping. The parts cost maybe 20% more in Thailand compared to newegg prices. I will sell it for 21,000 baht.

Alternatively, I would part with the video cards for 3,500 baht each.

When I was using neteller 2 years ago the card was working fine after I told them I would be in Thailand for a few months.
Now I'm using a Swedish bank card and if I use wrong atm the money go missing for 5-7 days.. Tmb atm is whats working for me.

first month in THai generally equates to 1/2 your std volume at best, and spending 2x more than you will in later months. But its worth it.
