Phuket second highest HIV infection rate in Thailand

I have dozens of friends in Australia making 100k+ per year in manual labour jobs in the mining industry. And even for them their base hourly rate is between $25-$30.

The reason they earn such big dollars is miners don't work 9-5. They work 14 hour days and have no days off while they are on site. They are mostly always earning more than their base rate because of penalty rates (hours worked over 40 in 1 week, hours worked over 8 in 1 day etc) and on-site allowances.

Basically everyone I know in aus is earning 6 figs, and not one of them is saving anything like over 50K a year after tax. Sure you can save more if you live like a utter hermit and never do anything at all, but that's hardly realistic and far from 'easy' (unless you actually are a hermit I guess)

Im with spudhead on this one get a job in the mines and they even pay all your travel and food. As well as the sick wages as the mines pay better than normal jobs.
