I'd consider Koh Tao, which has a great dive culture and lots of privatish beaches. There is a great resort on the backside of the island called New Heaven which has a great honeymoon suite overlooking the ocean. Koh Phi Phi also strikes me as a place that would be good for a honeymoon, very beautiful island.

Unfortunately July is going to have a fair bit of rain anywhere you go. July here is not like July in Europe or the States.
Agree with the Koh Tao recommendation. The weather should be nicer there than in Phi Phi in July.

i can vouch for koh samet, i went into the highest point of the season and it was still awesome and not that crowded.

The sand/water was much better than phuket, the island was much less good. the nightlife pretty much sucked.

The restaurants though, awesome and u get to sit in the sand.
The massage on the beach are way cheaper and way better. tons of junk for sell too and tons of fruits/sumtam/chicken.

tons of hot jap girls

So winlong view in bangkok is decent for a serviced apartment. i got the second cheapest room, via internet it was 850baht a night(down from 1200) although u can get it for like 8k a month in apt rate.

internet is pretty fast, and working in the ****ters

about 5mins from bts, tons of thai restaurants and university girls

Guys,

Thailand is a 3rd-world country. Just because people don’t run around hacking off limbs with machetes (except for Ron) doesn’t make it a developed country. You people claiming Thailand is an ultraviolent dystopia are even more naïve than the clueless tourists who think the thais are nothing more than a smiling happy-go-lucky people who want nothing out of life other than to serve foreigners. Put down the Frank Miller comic books and look at this from a realist’s perspective.

Do you live in a compound in Montana with a two year supply of food and a 10:1 gun to person ratio? If you do, you probably feel very secure and safe, and rightly so. But you probably live with the rest of us in the real world. Bad things happen in the real world. There is crime and violence. These things happen mostly when you’re careless, but sometimes for no reason at all. Bad **** can happen in Thailand, it can happen in Laos, and it can happen in Kansas City, Stockholm, or Düsseldorf. This is the price of living in the real world.

I’ll grant you that Thailand can have to effect of making certain people think they’re invincible. They do things like start fights, stop using condoms, and even spraypaint dicks on portraits of the king. This has little to do with Thailand and everything to do with the person refusing to understand the society they’re living in.

Cliff’s Notes: Thailand is not utopia but it is also not Detroit with palm tress.

Never mind that gambling is illegal, which gives them carte blanche to extort even more money from you or add god know how many years to your already substantial prison sentence.
This is ludicrous. They can’t even do a competent job blocking porn sites, gambling sites, and sites critical of the monarchy. How many poker pros do you think live in (as opposed to just visit) Thailand? I’d put the over/under at 25. Are they really that concerned when there are millions of illegal aliens and thousands of English teachers working illegally? I’m sure most people illegally working on the internet do it exclusively through email. Are they going to read every email to see if it is business-related?

Why would thais be concerned with a dozen of players who live here peacefully taking a bunch of money from foreign fish and pumping in into their economy?

On paper it might be against the law but from what I understand of this country nobody would do you harm.

hahaha funny how we farang do so many things like this in thailand. its not about the money, its the ego. we don't care about paying them the extra $2 we just don't want to get hustled. i relaxed on this a bit and have tried to see things in absolute terms instead of relative terms (as in its only $2 not its 200% more expensive than it should be) and it makes life a little easier and less stressful
ya same. i got OWNED SO HARD in Cambodia at Angkor by this kid it crushed me psychologically for like two days. i can't even recount the story without feeling sorry for myself. it was for like $15 or something though so ya, definitely better to think about it that way vs a 500%+ markup

I saw a gibbon today on my way to Nai Harn beach just chillin on a guard rail. I stopped my bike about 10ft away from him and watched him for a bit until he started moving towards me. Then I sped off. Phuket is too hot right now.

Ok folks help me out here please. My honeymoon will last for two days and it's gonna be Koh Tao vs. Koh Samet. It will be in early July. Which one has the better weather on this time of the year? Which one has clearer water? Which place has more activities once we get bored to the "paradise beach"?
