Make up a bs story about how you proposed to a girl and she said no and so you came to Thailand to get away, then sometime while she is at your apartment have a friend phone you and pretend and pretend that she is coming and wants to get married. You can then break it off with her or cool it down, without being seeming like a dick in her eyes, if that bothers you.

Or just tell her you can't see her anymore and block her calls.

Got a pm from one of the many lurkers who don't post here because of the idiot trolls ruining this thread. He's saying that fish is 35-60 baht depending on location but I'm not sure that's true for Central Pattaya. Was with that girl standing aside while she did the order and she tends to know what time it is.

Decided to be a man and break it off face to face today, whole new story there but whatever, getting old now.

Spoiler:
Is it legal to play poker in Thailand? If so should I change my address with Stars or just keep it as a Canadian address? Can I open a Thai account and withdraw from Stars to that account? How much do I need every month to live in Thailand? Do I need a return ticket? What apartment should I rent?
Lets get cracking guys this thread is serious business!

Good resource I got from Pooter. Using it every day, thanks bro.

paging lessu...

thinking about getting a 2x entry tourist visa before i go back to thailand. The thing is i'll be flying to bkk and staying for just a few days before going to the phillipines for a week, then coming back to bkk and staying longterm. Does doing this take away one of money tourist visa entries? if so it doesn't really make sense to get one and i would just take the 30 days when i land.

Also i've been hearing that i may not be able to get more than 1 entry anyway. If this is the case am i correct to assume that it makes no sense for me to get?

i have never tried, but you can ask then when you land to give you a VOA (visa on arrival) and not to use your double entry visa, then when you re-enter the next time you can use your double entry visa. You only get a VOA depending on your nationally, but if your from Oz/usa/canunkada/uk and most of the EU you will be fine.

I am currently on a double entry visa, and this is my second entry, never heard people only allowed one entry

It's amazing how much crap and trolling I take on a regular basis for my posts which often include pictures, exact information about the amount of money I've spent (some of the top things newbies ask about) and (IMO) a pretty entertaining account of my first hooker experience here.

Considering the average content level of this thread over the past 4 months I've been following, I'm not sure what the problem is.

If I pull my SIM it's a dick move, if I just ignore all her calls it's a dick move, not really sure what to say to her face. I keep trying to set her up to go to the bar and go A-wall on me so I can pull the jealous card, but then she just texts all night saying she'll pay her own bar fine. I noticed she put a pic of me and her on her phone home page and it's pretty much full on she thinks I'm her boyfriend now.

I didn't plan any of this, seriously. I wish I just never saw her again after the first night. Should have listened to my own rules that I posted here before I even landed in Thailand. Just got caught up in the moment and now I'm totally lost because I'm not a playa at all. I hate being a dick to people who have been really good to me. She's texting me now asking if she can come over and bring me KFC. I have no clue what to do really.
The only thing I can do I guess is keep blowing her off now and hope she doesn't go ape **** on me.
newbies should be paying very close attention to the lessons learned in this post. when people talk about not paying hookers in thailand, usually they are being a dick to a girl who expected to get paid, and the dangers include getting your stuff stolen or getting your ass whipped by her friends.

accepting clear freebies from hookers has it's dangers as well, as ebffs is learning. FFS give that hooker that just did her best to make you blow a gasket her $30. she'll still want to see you again... but you don't end up in this bad of a conundrum.

when PE says "VOA" or "Visa on arrival" in this post, he actually means a 30 day visa exemption. VOAs are something else entirely that will never matter for 99%+ of people in this thread. asking for them might confuse things a lot.

it's not uncommon for them to just give you a 30 day expemption if you don't fill out the visa info for the visa you already have. it might be best to just fill out your arrival form as if you don't have a visa, and if you see him spotting your visa and processing it, then ask him *then* not to process it, explaining that you're only in the country for a day or two, but will come back in a few weeks for your real trip around thailand.

I think the lesson to be learned from accepting freebies is there will be some clear expectation of something own the line if you do, whether it be a relationship or support in the way of $$$ in Lieu of her working, most likely both.

More often than not just paying is a better and easier option unless you have some genuine intentions with the girl.

So how easy is it to get into a genuine relationship with these women I mean once a hooker always a hooker right what's the chance of a avg dude making a honest woman of a Thai lady not saying this us mine or anyone's intention just if the situation arises

Its a total fkn minefield mate, not easy. That said I do know a fair few guys that have been with some for years and have a family etc, but you gotta go into it with your eyes open.

The list of guys that have been fked over is endless, and there is a constant treadmill of them that keep turning up in Thailand as noobs, fresh for the kill for the girls.

It's extremely common. FWIW I know plenty of average dudes here who are married to and have kids with ex-hookers. Even more girls that used to work here have left to live overseas with guys they met while on the job.

A big part of the reason that many of these girls even become hookers in the farang-oriented industry in the first place is that they have been abandoned by their first husband and it's their best chance of getting re-married. Even more so for the ones who have kids from their first marriage, they might as well be dead in the eyes of most Thai men.

This documentary is a really good insight into that kind of thing.

The older woman met her husband while working in a bar in Pattaya 20 years ago, and now lives in Denmark, acting as a matchmaker for Thai women and Danish men.

Hot would-be hooker first appears in 2nd segment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5Ep5...feature=relmfu

Actual Spoilers, not for comic effect:

Spoiler:
She asks the old woman to put her in a personal ad in Denmark so she can meet a Farang to marry. The old woman basically tells her "**** that, you're young and hot, you can make some money in Pattaya while you look for a husband yourself". So she does, and becomes a hooker in a Finnish-owned Pattaya beer bar. By the end of the documentary, she is corresponding with a guy from Finland.

Whilst I'm prob to young to settle being in my early 30's the idea is appealing, tho I'd be wondering what sort of life such a woman would want here in the uk, I'm sure the average joe blogs doesn't live that great a life here in blighty. IMO I think they would feel let down if the lived in a western setting with a reg 9-5 joe

Especially if she met him when he was in holiday mode and throwing the $$$ about. Gonna be a big shock to her after landing in England when she finds out he's a postman earning min wage living in a ****ty flat.

Trust me that happens......

I guess its no big deal if your young and don't have a lot of £££ to lose. But if you have a house and a lump of £££ to your name you might get a sweat as to whether she goes for the big bink down the line.

If you saw where these women come from, you'd realise that isn't much of a concern. Isaan is still third-world. In the documentary I linked to above, this conversation occurs between the young girl and her older friend who just got married to a Dane.

Young Girl: "What's it like being married to a Farang?"
Older Girl: "It's definitely better than living here".

I am sure most of the women would prefer to live their new life of luxury in Thailand, but that isn't an option if their husband has a job he can't leave at home. So they go.

Then again if you've got plenty of cash you could turn your over the hill ex-bar girl into a hi-so and she miiiiiiiiiiiiight just stay if you keep the cash for clothes, handbags, and regular nights out with her mates flowing.

And if it doesn't work out, she will divorce you and rinse you for a lump of cash. Then possibly end up on the pages of adultwork for a few years earning £50-100k per year, before finally returning to Thailand a pretty wealthy lady by Thai standards

Thanks for posting. Watching it now and I find it sad but fascinating.

There's one part that bothers me quite a bit though. The part where Sommai asks Kae about marrying that guy and says, "you cannot change it later, or I'll lose face."

I understand when you don't put people on the spot when it's obvious they made a mistake, but asking someone to stick with a marriage for the rest of her life just so you don't have to face a little embarrassment just sounds incredibly selfish to me.

Definitely this!

While you can give them way better living conditions than they are used to, the cultural shock is HUGE.
Everything from weather/temperature, food (no more motorbikes with somtam), learning new social norms and not least the social stigma.

Furthermore, their family will suddenly expect them to send even more money than before, because all farang are super-loaded, so in their minds she now has access to an endless supply of money.

Just watched the 2nd segment.

Think your spoiler is a bit misleading as it is mentioned that she wont be able to move to Denmark for another year anyway.

But yes, they do have a very cold and calculating way of doing these things, but they just dont have the luxury of waiting for actual true love
