So true though. For most of my training I always did pressing exercises on chest day. Bench press/dumbbell press almost exclusively, then I'd have this whole separate day for shoulders doing more presses (seated dumbbell, military press ect). So obviously my chest always sucked and my shoulders got way out of proportion.

Only this year I finally accepted how big my mistake was and stopped being stubborn. Now I do low pulley cable press and fly's on chest day, then do dumbbell chest press and bench press on top of shoulder presses on shoulder day. Chest is gonna catch up big time in 2013.

Only reason I've been out of training past 3 months is I sold my car along with all my other big stuff and have had no way to get to the gym.
I'm sure I'll be able to find a decent gym in Patts that I can get to easily walking or very cheap taxi and the tropical climate/beaches over there are gonna be strong motivation to grind the gym hard every day again.
I'm not far off my peak now. (33 yo is a good age). I was squatting 405 raw for reps this year and 495 with reversed blue bands.

I think I'll be happy in Patts for a few months at least until the gf shows up Seems to be more than enough there to keep me occupied on top of a heavy 8-9hr grinding schedule.

Since we're on the topic of working out and kratom. I should mention this stuff is also great for working out at the right doses. I believe Kratom first became popular in Thailand and other parts of SEA with the hard laborer's. They would chew the leaves all day as they toiled in the oppressive heat. The stuff has great analgesic properties, just sick for cardio too.

It was a dig at people who do things you deem to be unnecessary but that's fine, let's just call it what it is though...

So when one needs medical attention in your country do they go into the forest for select roots and herbs?

Koh Chang is great because it's not very well developed and not very crowded. Not the best place if you absolutely must have access to a gym. Even if there is one, it might have an inconvenient location or might not have proper equipment.

Yeah thats what i assumed... What about internet connection in Koh chang ? Maybe i'll do some runs, like go to a city nearby to learn to fight and sleep only and then go back to koh chang

some people say u need 2 way ticket but over last 3 years me and my friends flew into thailand about 50 times and nobody had 2way ticket and we didnt have any problems.

Singapore airlines didn't let me board their plane without a ticket out of thailand. So while you might not need a two way ticket, you might need to book a cheap ticket to a nearby country.

Strange really as the whole point in getting a pre fixed visa meant you could/can fly into thailand on a one-way ticket. The only reason airlines did/should check you have an onward flight is if you are trying to check in without a prefixed visa and will only be getting the 30 day voa.

Internet seemed OK while I was there...but I've never stayed longer than a week.

I don't think that would work there. Theoretically, you could drive to the port and then take a ferry to the mainland. However, note that Trat is really far from major cities:

Even if there is a gym somewhere, there might not be Muay Thai training in English (if that's what you're looking for).

There are some other minor issues. If you need some equipment (for example new running shoes), then you'd have to travel to the mainland. And it might be hard to follow a proper diet. For example, on some days there was no milk and eggs in the 7/11-s. No gains will be made on mango and sticky rice .

So Phuket or Samui are much better options overall if you need a beach life and training.

Sri Lankan forced me to buy an onward ticket once when my passport was expiring in less than 6 months. If I didn't get the VOA (without the onward ticket), the airline would have been responsible for purchasing my return ticket.
