I've never been travelling on my own before you see.
Nah live and work in the UK but go there 3-5 times a year. My story is I went to Bangkok with my parents as a 21 yo, and unbeknown to them shipped a few chicks when there which got me hooked for life

Twenty years on am still going there, but have done loads of travelling to other parts of the world too, but mostly while I was in relationships. Asia is pretty much my default destination when single

As far as going on your own is concerned its hard to tell if you will enjoy it or not. Some of my friends could not think of anything worse than going away somewhere by themselves, I never even considered the fact I wouldn't enjoy it. That said I do sometimes go with friends and sometimes by myself, I do know a lot of expats and regular holiday makers to Thailand too, so I have drinking buddies if I want them.

You pretty much just have to jump out there by yourself and try it to see if you will like it.

I often argue with people, even my parents, not to take certain drugs, but to change your lifestyle instead. A friend of mine who is I'd say morbidly obese takes a large amount of pills on a daily basis as prescribed by his doctor. The doctor won't advise him to change his diet instead, because he isn't allowed to do so. When I tell my friend to change the way he eats, he tells me I don't know more than his doctor and that he's really sick and I should back off. It's just really annoying when people reason that simply because a person ' studied' everyone else by default is wrong.
Dunno where the fk you live, but my Doc is always calling me a fat bastard and telling me to eat less ****

Hard to recommend a specific place really, its just down to the girls you meet I guess and whether you click with them. I personally wouldn't dream of taking a girl with me for a few days that I had just met the night before, I'd need to know them for a couple of days minimum really.

Can't imagine anything worse than agreeing to take them to Ko Samet or wherever for a few days and the conversation drying up on day 2.......

hehe robbie i thought we were boys

well I should of gone on to say I have been to Thailand, Kombodia, Malaysia and India without taking any injections and been fine. Maybe my stubbornness to take these injections will come back to haunt me when I get sick. Or then again maybe all the dieases stuff out here is over hyped, i mean we already confirmed guys can get HIV from bare backing, yet the internet tells us something else.

I guess if your comming here alone if you do happen to get sick, no one going to look after you, so may want to factor that in too in your case for/not taking injections.

If I had to do it all over again, I would get my vaccines in BKK. It's an easy way to save $300-500 that a travel doctor will charge you in the USA. (depending on exact vaccines you get)

I actually got my Heb B 2nd shot in some BKK public clinic. Very easy, cheaper than street food, and it was worth it for the novelty value alone.

You should read up on how vaccines work.

Even if you don't get a vaccine yourself, you are a beneficiary of vaccines if everyone around took it for a specific disease. There are fewer hosts for the disease and it is harder to spread. Some diseases have been completely wiped out, like polio because of heavy commitment to vaccinate everyone.

And repercussions are great if you do get some disease. It's a bit like saying that you won't pay $5 to insure your car for the year because you never get into accidents.

For UK guys all the main ones are free on the NHS, your GP surgery will tell you what you need. Hep-B is an optional extra you have to pay for, if you plan on shipping girls (or boys ) out there you should get it, think I paid 60 quid, but can't remember exactly. Not all GP surgeries can give Hep B, but they will tell you where you can get it, either another surgery or a travel clinic.

I'm led to believe you might be able to get Hep B for free from your local GU clinic, but can't confirm.

Yeah I think you only pay for a few. I heard you pay for rabies, is that right? Worth getting?

I don't wanna get pumped full of drugs and (touch wood) I'm fit and healthy and not susceptible to disease so I'm not overly worrying but on the other hand, I don't wanna get bitten by some rabid dog either.

Up to u to weigh up the risks mate, but the jabs basically eliminate the chance of getting the diseases and there is no downside to having them. I was recommended to be up to date with Tetanus, Typhoid, Hep A and Hep B and I don't even live there like you.

http://www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk/desti.../thailand.aspx

No idea where to get them cheap in Patts sorry.

People tend to go and get that one if they get bitten, I've traveled all over and never been told to take that as a preventative.

If you get bit go to a hospital after and you should be fine. It's quite rare to get bitten if you steer away from them anyway.

Yah travel docs can run up a bill with consultations and fees to deliver shots on top of cost of medicine. i went to a walk in clinic, and am in for 230.

I think a good "budget" approach would be 1 shot of vivaxim ($90) to cover hep a/typhoid. You get these from food so you want to be protected on arrival. then get hep b, hep a booster, hep b boosters, japanese encephalitis etc when you get there.

I obviously don't literally mean "stalking." I mean if the girl doesn't leave immediately when you want her to (after you've busted your final nut) that's stalking. There is only one girl in this world I'll spoon and kiss and hold hands with. Every other girl it's just upgraded fapping, nothing more.

I might then go to Australia and possibly work for a year.

A few questions:

- Do I need to sort the working holiday visa for Oz before I fly to SE Asia or can I do it while I'm out there?

- What's the football (soccer) scene like in BKK? Does anyone play? Are there pick-up games or organised leagues? This can be indoor 5-a-side or proper 11 a side or whatever.

- What jabs are the absolute must haves? I've been reading that Hep A and B are locks, what else?

- What are the gyms like in BKK and how expensive are they?
http://www.twinrix.ca/en/ and tetanus. I just double checked with my doc to be sure. I got my twinrix over 5 years ago and it's good for life. I'd go do your first shot immediately because you need a booster 3 months later (or some amount of time I forget exactly). Tetanus also, easy to get if you cut yourself, and pretty ****ty way to die when it's so easy to prevent. I managed to rip my right index finger clean open to the bone a few months ago and needed 5 stitches so I got a very recent Tetanus shot also.

Anyway my doc is pretty solid and says I'm set with that that (Tetanus and twinrix). If you plan on traveling to remote regions there are more exotic things you might consider like Japanese Encephalitis/malaria. But you can do that cheaper from in Thailand as a precaution before doing the remote trip. Malaria there is no vaccination so if you are traveling very remote it's a good idea to have the drugs to treat it on hand.

It's called herd immunity. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herd_immunity

PE's is massively protected by vaccinations whether he agrees with them or not. Vaccines can cause illness but it's the method of vaccination that needs improvement. The concept of vaccination itself is genius and has obviously saved countless lives and eliminated infinite amounts of suffering.

My doc told me I don't need boosters for hep a/b. You get the one booster soon after your first twinrix shot then you're set for life.

I might look into typhoid though.

So many thoughts on this subject...

Why is it that so many people value a non-thin woman who doesn't look attractive until she spends 30 minutes in front of a mirror putting on makeup, who has no aspirations in life beyond besides catching the latest Hollywood buzz, doesn't know how to cook beyond what she needs to survive, etc., to the extent that she can get away with her bitchiness?
