Positives:
-Young kids clealry having an awesome time laying some serious water on the tourists.
-Mega waterfights with 50 bargirls who are clearly enjoying themselves not having to be dolled up and playing their normal role.
-Said bargirls with wet T-shirts
-Said bargirls using ICE water in their guns
-95% seemingly enjoying themselves.

Negatives:
-Dbag farangs shooting me in the face while I'm driving my motorbike
-Thais shooting me in the face while I'm driving my motorbike
-Arsehole farang who shot me in the face when I was on my telephone at a restaurant (he was rewarded by a smile then 1 knee to the nutz and 2 to the ribs)
-Dirty water usage (resulting in explosive diareeah
-Dumbarse angry tourists looking for fights (we saw an African pwn an Arab dude with like 5 hits outside a disco)
-Police randomly confiscating water guns from tourists as Thais shoot everyone in sight.
-Powder in my glass of beer
-Powder in my eyes
-Fat farang girls in wet t shirts

gotta hand in positive...

Thai girls look hot wet.
hot water is great when theres wind

negatives

MOTHER****ING FARANGS HANGING IN ALL THE GODDAMN DARK AND COLD SPOTS SHOOTING YOU WITH A ***** GARBAGE FULL OF WATER(SEE LIKE 30LITERS) OR EVEN THOSE GODDAMN SMALL POTS DIRECTLY IN THE FACE. GRR stupid tourists

gdamn moron shooting the water directly on the face on fast roads... hurts a ****load especialy since its ice water.

gdamn ice water morons

i forgot powder is awesome cuz i didnt get any. but saw tons of girls getting extra smashed in the face haha

If it was only water guns and throwing little water, it would be very fun.. but people go way too hardcore... dont need to throw a ***** bucket directly on the face.

went to kata noi today... saw 20 fat euros in speedos.. over 30 fat woman wearing no top... 2 cute thai girls

Re: Thailand returns

man i think buckets should be disallowed in waterfighting. they're too strong. i'm making a precise shot from across the street then bam there's like 5x the volume of my gun right on my back. not right.

how many people each year get injured during Songkran? It seems like the water and motorbike thing is dangerous. Also today there was this really old man walking with his cane right through the middle of the huge waterfight. This wasn't the parade part, it was the waterfight part. Of course he got knocked down and though I think he was alright no doubt got hurt. Not sure what he was doing there.

What's the going rate for XBOX 360s out there? Can you buy them modded and buy $2 games at the market like you could with ps2? Thanks

where did you get these numbers? and how do the police handle that sort of thing? if someone throws a massive bucket of water on someone driving a motorbike and they crash and die, who is at fault? songkran or the guy who threw the water?

to answer the weather question i was here last year during june/july and though it was a bit rainy it times, it was never rain that kept you from doing things. it would rain for an hour or something then be nice. i preferred the weather then to now actually. now it's brutally hot.

oh one thing about the really rainy season (octoberish i think?) be careful doing whitewater rafting, caving, or **** like that. the businesses don't give a ****, and you won't know it's unsafe until you're clinging onto a rock for your life.

As always it depends who did to who?

Farang of any sort to Thai driver: Then you bet your arse the farang is liable.

Thai to farang: Oh well, he knew the risks driving during songran.

Poor Thai to Por Thai: Unlucky, it's songran yo.

Rich Thai to poor Thai: That's unfortunate, but hey, here's some baht for your family and the police not involved.

The super duper, will it ever stop, holy chit, monsoon rains tend to appear between late august and mid oct. The next few months will be sporadic short term mega rain but, as you point out, it does get hella hot but I guess I'm just used to it now. And I gladly trade the extra 5-10C for the 80% drop in dbag tourists.

What is this word, "safe", you are using? I seem to have a warped concept of it's meaning after over a year in Thailand.

With Epassporte gone, I could use suggestions on how to get money from Pokerstars to myself in Thailand. I am a US citizen with a US address on stars. I do have a Thai Bank account if that helps. Feel free to PM me sensitive information.

Re: Thailand returns

How do people not get tired of this **** after 4 days? Songkran is like the Vietnam war, the asians lay careful traps and ambushes while the white people just shoot the hell out of anything that moves.

I hate white people so much. If you're dry and look like you clearly don't want to get inovolved the locals will just leave you alone. With white people it's more like this:
"I'm seriously not in the mood for this right now."
"Duhhhhhhhhhh, huh huh huh"
"I'm carrying food, I really don't want it to get wet."
"Duhhhhhhh, happy new year!"
