yeah i know they want dollar dollar bills yo that are in very good nick. Id only be going there for a few days, see the sights and what not.

from what I hear when I was in penang and KL last, that if you dress like a tourist, in sandles, shorts and vest, they are much more likely to treat you like **** in KL then if your dressed smart. Also in KL they are more likely to ask for your flight details etc etc were not so much in Penang.

but dressing goes along way na

Nah, I was dressed in shorts and t shirt most of the time. The burmese are probably the friendliest people I have come across tbh, no issues there.

There isn't a whole bunch of stuff to do in Yangon tbh, maybe you could fill a day, but not a lot more. Most of the good stuff is in Bagan, inle lake and in and round Mandalay, these are a long way from Yangon.

Hi all,

I would like to get some answers for those questions:

1) What Internet Simcards would work the best in Pattaya and have the best offer/signal in the area
2) Do you guys know any places in Pattaya with 2nd handed Monitors, i need like 24" or something to buy for my staying time
3) Any of you guys tried companies offering travel tour from Pattaya to Siam Reap (Cambodia) , i saw some of them in the Internet but would love to read your opinions

Thanks for info

vucking i have been told how the bills have to be perfect everywhere i go and it hasnt mattered once, i stuck some hundo's in my shoe under the soles in PI and they actually got stuck to part of it and damaged reasonably bad with lil holes in them, i showed a guy on the plane and he said i would have no chance of spending them, yet the first place i tried instantly accepted them

is it really that much tougher in burma?

do they even have a western union option?

if not say u got to the country with no return ticket and then got your money stolen, would there literally be nothing you could do?

exactly, this I can confirm (cause I have tried out few weeks this shedule) - it is at least true for NL 6max MSNL on Stars (reg games).
Sure, the traffic in terms of number of ppl who play on stars goes down to like 100k ppl and below.
But the fish/reg-ration is just best.
Exspecially for ppl like me who play usually as well on weekends (I take one day off per week, but on tuesday to not miss the profitable weekends), sheduling the work in thailand as suggested should be fine.
As a Zoom-reg you could get problems though, at least on non-weekends cause zoom is afaik indeed not rly running well in the later night/early mornings...

Yes, i have travelled most of the region, different game in Burma, the notes have to be close to perfect. As of last sept, there is no other way to get money, u have to carry in what u need.

Fk knows if u lost ur money, embassy?

I've actually been finding the Zoom games during the day in Thailand to be fine. I just recently moved up stakes, and have been surprised but happy to see numerous fishy calling stations. As a result, I have to say I've been spewing a bit off with multi barrel bluffing as the PFR in spots where the PFC just can't fold even though he has like 3rd pair or something absurd like that. But as soon as I cut down on the frequency in which I do that, I expect to make a ton by getting fully paid off most of the time I hit TPTK+

So for the stakes I am playing now, the Zoom games actually seem pretty good to me, even during the day in Thailand/Asia.

Was in the Pharmasave buying 144 condoms (4 value packs). Anything else that's worth stocking up on in Canada before I fly? How is the coffee there? This article tilted me a little http://blogs.wsj.com/scene/2011/09/1...d-in-thailand/

Also looking forward to doing lots of snorkeling around the islands near Patts. I have some high end flippers/mask/snorkel but my suitcase is already near max capacity. I'm assuming all the good locations for snorkeling have shops nearby where you can rent stuff? Can't wait to have a nice puff and snorkel all day, but I'm not sure about packing this stuff. Feels dumb to leave behind snorkeling gear on a trip to Thailand.

Ya on Stars it's pretty much good any time.

Sounds like you are bringing too much stuff IMO. I arrived here with a week's worth of clothing and a laptop. Everything except electronics is pretty cheap to buy here. You should have plenty of room for mask/snorkel/flippers once you get rid of a bunch of stuff you don't really need to bring.

Stocking up on condoms, for example, seems like a pretty poor idea. You can buy them anywhere here, and you'd get funny looks from customs when they see you turning up with 144 condoms. They sell ****ty condoms in 7-11, but you can buy the good ones in most pharmacies.

Nah not a poor idea. I need to be sure to have the particular type I like. I'm not actually bringing too much stuff. I have the standard check in and carry on luggage. 50lbs each allowed with China Southern. But in my check in with snorkeling gear, monitor, electronic accessories and cloths it starts getting full fast.
I'm genuinely curious about the snorkeling gear though. My gf and I both packed the full kit to Yucatan and then felt stupid when everywhere we went there was disposable snorkels and half decent masks/flippers for rent cheap at the sicko snorkeling spots.

I wish I had brought more caffeine pills. AFAIK they aren't sold in Thailand and they're really convenient when you're in a hurry. Bring a couple sticks of whatever deodorant you use. Razor blades and sunscreen are more expensive in Thailand so consider getting them at home. How long are you planning on staying?

I'm staying indefinitely. Funny you say that about caffeine. I love coffee but I always start my day with a custom cap. I bought 1kg of pure caffeine from true nutrition . com and 30g of DMAA. I cap up 900mg in gel caps that have 4% DMAA, 27% caffeine and taurine filler. I still have **** loads of these powders but they're white bitter alkaloids so obviously I'm concerned about taking them in my luggage even if they're legal. Buying those caffeine caps is tilting too since they're such a rip. You can buy a kg of pure anhydrous caffeine powder for $56. Basically a lifetime supply. I still have easy 400g.
I'm seriously considering just throwing it in my check in bag. It's all legal, it's just it looks really sketchy and they'd have to test it to know for sure. I'd hate to miss a connecting flight in LA or China because of some suspicious white powders in my luggage. But on the other hand if it's in check in, it's a very slim chance they'll even notice. They use dogs to smell specifically for illegal stuff not caffeine/dmaa.....

Another thing I love is Kratom. Ironically even though Kratom is from SEA, one of the few places it's actually illegal in is Thailand. Some of my favorite strains of kratom actually come directly from Thailand, so it's pretty ridic that I'm traveling there and have to give up one of my favorite herbs for grinding.

Caffeine pills are really cheap, I think the Walmart brand was 60 or 100 200mg tabs for $2. Definitely looks better than carrying a bunch of white powder. I would bring backups for whatever grooming products you use like shampoo, razor blades, deodorant, skin care products, lip balm, whatever. Unless you're a guy who just shampoos with a bar of soap and uses disposable razors, in which case just buy everything here.

60 or 100 200mg caps for $2!! Wow, I've never seen that in Canada. Nothing even close. Ya I've more or less decided on not bringing any powders. I should be able to live off just coffee like normal people anyway. Thanks for the tips about hygiene stuff, so good Gillette triple blade cartridges and high quality shampoo ect expensive/hard to get there?

Gillette blades are notably more expensive than in the US. The price difference isn't huge and it wouldn't matter if you were only staying a few months but razor blades aren't bulky at all so no reason not to stock up. 99% of skin care products are "whitening," have no idea if this is BS, but I'm white enough already. The Thai deodorants I've tried aren't nearly as effective as my normal brand, etc. None of these things take up much space.

If you have a favorite kind of booze it may not be available so I'd consider bringing a few bottles.
