Talked with other ppl as well and it seems that for CG-players a nice grindingshedule would be like waking always up at 07.00 am and the starting asap the grind.
In this way you will play mostly between the night and the early afternoon referring to european timezone (02.00am -12.00pm), which is at least on stars (speaking for NL200 6max- NL 600 6max) pretty nice with a good reg/fish-ratio...

That's what I do right now. Wake 6:30am and start grinding because it's the best time on Stars (most traffic). But this is 14 hours behind BKK time so you have to shift that to 9pm.

That's the beauty of Stars though. There is enough traffic to grind any time you want. So you can still get started 7am in BKK, it just won't be peak time.

Oh and as far as my travel plans....I am getting a place in Bkk for a month, leaving all my **** there and travelling with just a backpack for a month to find a place to live, most likely one of the islands...once I get
to where I'm gonna live I will be there a long time...so it won't be that bad once I get settled
It's really standard on any decent new laptop now. They all have really nice graphics cards.

IMO Dell offers pretty good value. Custom computers are way overpriced. Dell mass produces so they transfer those savings over to the customers.

NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 640M with 2GB GDDR5 VRAM

http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-...M.71579.0.html

The improved feature set now includes support for up to 4 active displays. Furthermore, high resolution monitors of up to 3840x2160 pixels can now be connected using DisplayPort 1.2 or HDMI 1.4a if available. HD-Audio codecs, such as Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD, can be transmitted via bitstream mode through the HDMI port. However, as most laptops will feature Optimus, the integrated GPU will likely have direct control over the display ports and may limit the feature set available by the Nvidia Kepler cards.

If you're going to get a new laptop soon I'd recommend getting one with a solid state drive also. I just bought my new laptop and didn't think about it at the time, now I really regret it. You can drop the drive like 10 feet and it can still work. Not to mention they're massively faster which is important for large databases on HM/PT. Nothing would suck more than dropping your laptop and destroying your hard drive with all your data while you're traveling.

You can load windows onto a MacBook and the new MacBook just came out so you can probably find a used 17" MacBook for around $900-1500 it runs 1900x1200res

The different generations have different display ports tho. From the oldest unibody has a display port that will do super high res but no sound. A little newer than that will do those high res along with sound and the last couple of gen MacBooks have the thunder display port that will do multiple super high res monitors daisy chained lol.

An even better idea is to sell your monitor and CPU and get a iMac 27". You can find them on Craigslist for about $900

Not to mention any apple product doubles in value the 2nd you get into Thailand.

I am exaggerating a little but I think it would be worth at least 50% more there. So you can always sell it before you leave.

Even more valuable in Thailand where the heat eats up a lot of standard hard drives.

Don't forget the video card when getting a laptop. You will want a dedicated gpu, not integrated.

this is a good time to remind people to use a cooling desk/air desk or expect your hard drives to fry.

what is BKK-time?
Timezone in bangkok?
Should be the same like everywhere else in thailand.
So I get not the sentence where you say that 06.30 am in thailand is still 14 hours behind BKK-time and that I have to shift it to 09.00 pm
What you mean with this?

You misunderstand me. I'm in Vancouver right now. I don't get to Thailand until Oct 26th.

But I'm not sure what you were trying to figure out with your last few posts. You're asking what's the best time to grind on stars in Thailand. Well that won't change, it's still whatever time you find best now and then just adjust for the time zone shift.

Yeah sure, just have been curious what other ppl in thailand (or in generaljust other grinders) thinks the best grindtime is.

For CET it is imo either
- 4pm - 01.00 am (then there comes little deadtime until like 03.00 am)
or
- 03.00 am - 12.00pm (then again games worsens up until something round 04.pm).

This is what I've done for a while now and it seems best. 7am start, grind till bored and then have the rest of the day to do what you like.

Ya I have to say this is the only thing that I don't like about Thailand. I've been starting 7am on ZOOM for 5 months now. Really love being up before the Sun and finished early in the evening. I hated the old days when I would be up to 5am or later then sleeping past noon.

Thing is 7am Thailand time is right when traffic starts really dying down on Stars, which sucks.

Ah yeh, I've never checked the zoom games at that time. Probably dying down a bit though. In general I find the games better at 6am-midday though, less regs and more Euro degens who are stuck and can't go to bed

Ya true, you can't always correlate raw # of players to game quality. I think I will give an honest shot at keeping the same 7am start time when I arrive.

caught a motosai taxi from my place to the bts, cost 12 baht. I was drunk and forgot to get the exchange change before leaving my place. and I gave him 20 baht note. I waited 10-15seconds for the 8 baht change, but he just went. It was raining so I dont know if that increases the prices? But is there any way to report these guys like with taxis, as every taxi has the guys ID and taxi number on the left hand side of the dash board? I had some beers on me too and told him to put them by his feet, dunno if there any extra changes or w/e?

Hmmm we should start a poll on PE's last post. Who thinks he is an attention whore and waiting for people to bash him for being cheap, or is he really in fact the cheapest busto person in Bkk to complain about 26 cents ??? I honestly have no clue which one it is at this point
