I liked Lao a lot but it really didn't do it for me for some reason. Not enough people maybe? Too quiet? I don't really know why exactly but I don't think I could be there for more than a couple of months. Loved Cambodia on the other hand. It's like the wild west there, you can do anything you want. I mean, the bartenders roll you joints with their own weed! I'm thinking I probably will get a real job with the resort company I previously mentioned but am trying to get my friend to come out to grind poker for a little and travel to some of the other countries I didn't have time to go to (Indonesia, Malaysia, etc.). I could probably beat $.5/$1 pretty easily and definitely have the roll but cash games bore me to death for some reason. I'll definitely get in touch with you guys when I get out there. Thanks for the info.

Hmm, that, as it turns out was a matter of me not knowing the proper code.

(Me dumb, not simply inking in 2X in front of the tourist visa box)

The answer to pumpui is, YES. It is possible but you will need some supporting documentation. Next time we meet we can chat about it.

Dude!

TT&T is the best of the 3 ISPs in Phuket.

All you need to do is upgrade form indy to premier and shttt starts flowing smoothly.

They oversold the arse off the indy level interwebs packges which is why they suck t various things.

Im on a 1MB premier package (in Patong where the most bandwidth is sucked daily) and Im flowing just fine.

Also the Kata house boys had TT&T premier for 6 mos with no probs WRT VPNs.

Soooooo. Bump for an extra like 600THB/mo and smile.

So newteabag. You are telling me that now even though my connect has 0% packetloss to anywhere in the world and is stable as hell at any hour and flowing with BW.

If i upgrade to the better package i will not get packet loss on my vpn's?
Im not really good with networks, but it couldnt definitaly be the modem from TT&T? that would mean they port shape on indy?

Ill give what u said a try but right now im so ***** pissed at this isp. i went to the guy's place.. the speed and pings were the same xcept on the vpn it was fast as hell. Also even without vpn party was faster there

The kata guys got the premier 2MB package so that may acct for their better performance.

I reccomend upgrading to at least the 1MB premier no matter what else you do just for longterm stability.

Perhaps the modem is hurting your VPN connction but usually it is about speed and thers you are sharing with killing the bandwidth (even without you noticing a speed drop on other sites).

If after the upgrade to premier you still have issues, deffo change out the modem. Perhaps even change out the modem when you goto the TT&T office for an upgrade.

Also, as for TT&T support, if you call them you can get an engrish speaking technician but they will know less than you or I about anything more complex then do you have the right passwd/login name for TT&T.

If you like, the next time i spin near Phkt town/Chalong I can stop by and give it the hairy local eyeball. (Also I want to see this 3.5 BR house you got for such a decent rent.

yeah thats good. i just bought a linksys router/modem... still lagging.. i tried CDMA @ 260kbps... and it was working good. although the max speed was like 20k/s

If upgrading doesnt work ima keep this piece of crap for downloading adn get CDMA or the aircard for poker.

I'm pretty sure we're going to Phuket Town. Get away from all the annoying falangs.

Some lady told us the festival is only on the 13th? Anyone know if this is for all of Phuket or just Phuket Town?

WTF YO?

54 Myanmar Workers Suffocate in Thailand

BANGKOK: -- Fifty-four migrant workers from Myanmar suffocated in the back of a seafood truck in southern Thailand while being smuggled to the popular resort island of Phuket, police said Thursday.

An additional 47 workers survived the incident late Wednesday in Ranong province and flagged down police for help, police Col. Kraithong Chanthongbai said. Twenty-one were hospitalized while the rest were detained for questioning, he said.

"When police got to the scene, they found that 54 of the workers were already dead in the packed container truck," Kraithong said.

Of the dead, 37 were women and 17 were men. Police did not immediately know what jobs they were heading for, but illegal Myanmar immigrants in that region generally work in the fishing and construction industries or as maids.

Police were searching for the truck's driver, who had fled the scene, and members of the smuggling gang they believed arranged the trip.

Kraithong blamed the driver for failing to turn on the air conditioning in the back of the truck, which normally was used to transport seafood.

The surviving workers told police they sneaked into Ranong province from Myanmar's Victoria Point by fishing boat Wednesday night and were then packed into a small container truck for a trip to Phuket.

But after two hours, the workers told police that many of them began falling sick because of poor ventilation in the truck, Kraithong said.

The driver stopped the truck after being alerted to the problem but then fled the scene, Kraithong said.

Ranong province is located about 290 miles south of Bangkok just across from Myanmar's Victoria point and is regarding as a major trading route between the two countries.

There are about a million Burmese workers registered to work in Thailand and millions more who work mostly as laborers illegally to escape the poverty in their own country, which is one of the poorest in Asia.

At around 4pm today I watched from the balcony as about half the Burmese workers around our house just started sprinting up the hill in all directions into the jungle. I'm assuming it was thai immo. Burma must suck.
