I cant see the point in travelling to the other side of the world just to sit in a room all day.

Anything can be done, but that dosent mean you should go an do it!

Only the other day you were staying in a friends apartment eating icecream for breakfast and wondering where your life had gone wrong. The budget you live off is likely to have contributed to those feelings.

my monthly total looks like:
1k usd : rent + bills
1k usd: food
1k usd: fun (drinking + occasional soapy)

good amount of people I know in bkk spend similar amounts I think

Peoples probably looks more like:
$250: food
$250 rent + bills
$300 drinking
$200 excess spending while drunk

my last ten days or so in thailand i was staying at my gf's like outside the metro area. i paid her rent for the month (3k bhat) and for utilities. think including that i spent like $15-$20 a day. i was also paying about this much in rake every 30 minutes. i was the only westerner i ever saw except when i went to the mall to watch resident evil 3D (sucked don't see it) and didn't go out drinking at all.

basically didn't do anything except grind and watch movies because i didn't feel like going outside (there was nothing to do where i was staying anyway) and didn't order any chefsxp cause they didn't deliver to where i was staying. pretty easy to spend $250-600 a month on chefsxp.

obv i didn't move to thailand to do that just i was tired of traveling and didn't mind staying with my gf. if i had stayed the month there would've spent like $400 or so assuming i went out a few times. think i was spending on average ~2k USD a month before.

edit: got back home yesterday and gas now $5 a gallon in new york wtfffffffffff.

My monthly bills:

$350 rent/electric/internet
$450 food
$800 entertainment (and by that I mean boozing)
$50-60 visa costs.

~55,000 baht per month. I live in Samui, which is a bit cheaper than Bangkok, similar to Pattaya.
