R-Con on Soi Buakhao (also called Pattaya Klang 13), last year I paid 700/night. I think it actually worked out cheaper turning up without a booking that what it would have booking online.

50 baht for a mango is a ton, you can definitely get at least a kilo of mangos for that'

you can take out money from your thai bank at an ATM in the states

hummmm... but you don't have the money of a rich expat, in fact it's probable that many of those farang school teachers actually have more money to their name then you do PE.

Unless you consider rake of like 25% and terrible exchange rates not to be an issue

whoiam: weak. i'd never used WU before didn't know the fees were that bad.

K2dante: this has nothing to do with citibank it's a thai bank issue as i understand it. had no issue wiring money to citibank from korea when i lived there.

sigh.

so just withdraw to bhat then convert to USD and pay the exchange fee vig 2x? or find someone to buy MB from me for a bank wire in marketplace then? annoyingness. want withdraw from euro sites while i can still go to ATM and get the funds...

Is the account that I should open at kbank a foreign currency deposit? I have a job here in Thailand, so I have a work permit. Is that all I will need (along passport lease agreement etc.) to open a bank account. If not the FCD which type of bank account should I open to get money onto a site? sorry for the ignorance and thank you for your time.

In the US Western Union is just a flat fee of $12. If you want to wire 50 bucks you'd be paying 25%, but if you were to send $1,200 you'd be paying 1%.

How is it that Western Union in Thailand is so much different?

You're really telling me if I want to wire $1000 here in Thailand it will run me around $250, whereas in the US it would only be $12??

i just fuggin hate that lying scheming POS bank and when i saw there name mentioned i had to say **** them

seriously find another bank, if they havent screwed you over yet they will

actually i am sure they already have since they claim to have no foreign fees but take 3% in the exchange rate

I am meeting up with a friend in BKK for a few days and I am looking for some recommendations since it was some time I spent time in BKK. We are early 30s so not really looking for backpacker or uni crowds.

1. Top3 after hours clubs with not too many working girls but also not full of thai hisos, so a bit relaxed
2. Best english pub style place on sukh, decent food & guiness and some good pool tables
3. Any nice lounge bar style places that are good 10pm-2am ish?
4. Any recommendations for something fun/unusual to do during day time. (not temples and stuff)?
5. top3 gogos in nana, top3 gogos on cowboy

cheers
