For electronics, just look it up online to see what it sells for on Amazon/Newegg without contract.

In some categories, you will find that they sell a lot of outdated junk in the stores because a lot of products have a longer lifecycle there. I've seen GPS units that regularly sell for <$100 in a discount bin in US consistently listed for 2-3x the price in Thailand. There are also some products that are a tiny bit cheaper, like some Nikon stuff. (Nikon has a factory near BKK)

So... know the model and the price before you buy.

If you are very clear that you are looking for their best price most of the sellers won't jerk you around. (or maybe I was being jerked around and didn't know it? haha) Knowing how much it costs in the US after Googling it, you should know what a good deal is in Thailand too and can just buy from the first vendor unless you want to argue for the very last 100B.

It's similar to people moving to one of the cheapest places on Earth to temporarily expat to and then arguing who is more baller.

I have been told phuket town is good place to find "normal girls" but meant to be gang heavy and from one bar or club to another is quite far. this info is passed via 2nd and 3rd hand conversation so I have no idea how true it is?

in Patong 90% girls in disco are hookers, in Phuket Town 90% girls in disco are "normal"

It's a thread on a forum that people rely on for hard-to-find information about Thailand. This thread is the #1 result on Google for many common questions about Thailand. You make it harder for the people who want info to find it because they have to sift through all your drivel first.

I have no doubt that there are people here who enjoy reading your stuff, that's why you should post it on your blog, in BBV4L or the 2+2 facebook group. Anywhere but the "ask us about Thailand" thread. This thread is not supposed to be entertaining, it's supposed to be informative.

Not really any difference, we had that before and the people who love the sound of their own voice like PE and K2D would just go ahead and post in both anyway. K2D is already inflicting his verbal diarrhea on 3 threads about SE Asia, making more isn't going to stop him.
