Location is in the middle of Thonglor not far from the BTS, you can't really get a better location in BKK.

You obviously know nothing about the area and 2 people who have lived in BKK for 3 years are saying it's a good location. Whilst you spent 1 night in Bangkok roaming a ladyboy infested red light district to find a girl.

Will let the person who asked the question decide what he thinks who specifically asked for a cheap hotel in Thonglor for a reason.

lol Tom, that's not the same guy. This is the troll that gets banned all the time.

It's right across the street from 8 Thonglor, which I think is in the best location in all of Bangkok. You are less than five min walk to lot's of good restaurants and bars, a 24h supermarket, and its a 10b 2 min motorbike ride to the BTS. The location is ideal.

Obv. the troll knows nothing about BKK. Some of the best condos are in buildings that are already filled (from what I've read on this thread). Also if the average salary in Thailand is 8000/month, I think there should def. be higher demand for the 18k+/month condos in the busy season. I guess the average income for city dwellers is higher, but still.
I'm set to book for any time after Oct 01. Still wondering if anybody sees any advantage to leaving at a particular date between Oct 01 and Dec 01.

Can anyone recommend condominium buildings where I can find a studio at 8-10K budget a month, 3 months contract in bangkok. With okay WIFI in the building. I will be moving there at the end of this month. Close to BTS would be a great bonus. I guess down to sukhmvit soi 81 or something would be okay. I also need a kitchenette in the room.

august to november is the rainiEST time of the year though. whether it's worth coming here is up to you though. some outdoor sports, boat trips etc might be unavailable during that time.

if you are looking to get away from horrible euro weather then it's def worth coming
Lessu is right, but the weather seem to be much worse in Phuket than Pattaya. In Pattaya the rainy season basically started this week, and now the weather is good again So, that is why people live in Pattaya I assume :P

would 3 mins on motocyce taxi be close enough to bts? or does it have to be under a certain walking distance?

what do you eat if you have no kitchen? seems like it would be a pain in the ass to have to eat out every single day, no?

what do you guys do to cover yourselves for risk of motorcycle accident? the travel insurance plans i looked at don't cover those things, but i imagine there must be more comprehensive, more expensive plans that do cover such things? all i'm really worried about happening is a motorcycle or diving incident which both seem to not be covered.

I guess 1 km would be the limit, but it is only short term and I have a motorcycle so it does not really matter that much.

I looked at this place when it was brand new a couple of years ago and nearly moved in, job change was the only reason I didn't.

It says 800meters from On-nut bts but it might be a little further.

Yup that's it carrfour will be down 77 on the right hand side, just follow the road down, it kinda curves to the right about 500 meters down, and soi 8 is on the right hand side just after that.

Just jump on moto at the top Onnut and say soi 8, they may even know golden house im sure a few falangs live there, so they prolly know it. (that is if you use motos of course)

Thai people eat out a lot so there are a wide variety of affordable options. There are also western restaurants in many areas. You can also microwave stuff and have snacks around. Not really an issue unless you love cooking or plan on not leaving your place for days.

The only thing that I can think of that will change between these dates is the weather. If you come here on Oct 1 I think you will still catch a fair bit of the rainy season in most parts of Thailand but you will get better prices for your trouble. Check out the wikipedia pages for places like BKK, Phuket, CM and see the rainfall amounts by month. There actually are different monsoon cycles in some places as well though, Koh Samui gets hit later in the year for instance I believe so check that out too. Personally I wouldn't worry about it and just come here at the soonest date though. You will thank me later.
