if you try and pull girls and bring them back to your room, the next day they will ask you for money (usually 1k baht, about $35). about 80% of the women that you talk to in bars/clubs will either be upfront hookers who negotiate beforehand or just girls who ask afterwards.

Yeah cause doing Thailand "right" is about paying for as much sex as possible and bragging about it. Don't worry, there are plenty of girls that will want to sleep with you without any money involved. Depends on where you hang out though imo

Sure, women are still women and if you're a sexy farang you'll be fine.

i didn't say that at all? In fact ive only shipped 2 girls ive paid for in 3 months...

If you have a moral objection with prostitution, then you won't really have fun here considering 80% of the girls are prostitutes even if you don't pay the first time around.

gotta disagree here. before i came to thailand i was morally against prostitution. the idea of paying for sex was absurd. a few weeks in thailand changed all that. and from what i know the same thing happens to most people here.

i don't know if it's a factor of prostitution being acceptable in this country or the loltrickedu game some girls pull the next morning or if thailand is just a soulcrushing country or a combo of all three but for whatever reason thailand has a way of relaxing most peoples morals

Its more the way the girls act. They don't act like streetwalkers, they give you the girlfriend experience. It's more like a holiday romance that you pay for than it is like visiting a brothel.

alright fair enough, if your are open to changing your morals in thailand, thats fine...

honestly, if you plan on being a morally sound person throughout your trip, i think you are doing it wrong.

i guess what im trying to say is you need to be open minded to stuff in thailand.

Yep, that's make the trick. Even more, most of them would be really happy to become your real girlfriend, so for them, every history is an opportunity to hook up with a foreign.

You can have free sex quite easily, but you'll be breaking many hearts if you do this in "happy" environments. There, best to pay.

There's nothing immoral about prostitution in any case. It's the world's oldest profession for a reason - it's a service that's always in demand and people have always been happy to pay for. It's a voluntary exchange like any other, no different to hiring a cleaner or maid.

The only thing immoral is making it illegal, giving sex workers no legal avenue with which to enforce contracts or collect debts, and giving control of sex workers to organised crime and corrupt police as a result.

Going to Thailand next Thursday. Landing in Bangkok so probably stay there for a few days then eventually head to Ko Phangan for full moon party on the 9th.

Can anyone let me know good places to stay in Bangkok and Ko Phangan?

And also is it worth stopping anywhere else in between?

(sorry for posting in both threads)

This is far off my experience, most of the girls you pick up in clubs wont bring up the money subject unless they are very desperate. At least that goes for clubs, girls from bars are different as they usually work for the bar and you will have to pay a barfine for them anyway.

dream hotel and s.15 hotel are both good, park plaza at asoke btw station too. All of them are ~ 100$ a night but worth it.

If you have time you should def go to phuket for a few days.

After 6 months here I'm still not sure about that. Specially when you become aware that a long term relationship with any of these girls is just too complex and expensive, so the fantasy fades off.

anyone know of an efficient way to get one way tix from U.S. to BKK? every avenue I've looked down has one way tix just as expensive as RT tix, with return trips limited to 30 days out.

the one way ticket price being as expensive as a round trip is standard.

fwiw kayak.com doesn't have a problem giving good prices for round trip tickets even if you want to stay for 4 months. I usually buy my tickets there.

A round the world ticket (12 months 4+ stops) may be something else to look into?
