www.agoda.com and hoteltravel.com. Look there. U can compare prices. If ur looking place that has good internet service in ur room don't get andaman suites. The wireless was always going down when i was there. Agoda has a map of the locations of all the hotels there. So check there first. Bangla road is where most of the action is. If ur looking for action u might want to stay around there.

Just a quick report:

Right now in BKK, the "scene" seems to be shifting.
More and more girls freelancing, quality raising, at the same time the gogo are going downhill.
Not quite news i know.
But there is something new : more and more of those freelancing girls are not your typical run of the mill issan girls from east of nowherethani but laid off bkk girls.

A quote just for you:
Quote:
Not sure if anybody else has noticed this but if you stay away from Nana and hit up the freelance joints and Soi Cowboy there seem to be more and more girls who don’t have the typical Isaan girl coming to the big city to make money to send home to parents story.

Last four girls I’ve spent more than a few seconds talking with have all claimed to be either laid off retail shop girls or small business owners being hit with no customers. I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt because they don’t speak bar English. Very good English, very polite, able to hold a conversation, etc.
Me thinks same same.

Are we going to hit the miraculous "barfine singularity" : raise of rent for bars, leading to a raise in prices, leading to a drop a in customers, leading to a drop in the girls quality, leading to the end of the "you buy drink for lady", "i go dance" and barfine nonsense?

I certainly hope so.

Give me a BKK where the girls run free and in massive numbers join the global dancefloor for some real party-whoreing.

And i'll be happy.

Until that I just love my local scene, my phone just won't stop ringing. Welcome to the jungle.

If the Narcissus/pegasus complex is finished for NYE it's going to be a good place to score those. And party too.

Oh and Lucky bar is closed and reopened under the name lucky 7. It's huge, 3 floors and it's probably going to become The freelancer joint.

I quit. Just wear yellow underwear now. You can soil them without anyone noticing.

Oh and for NYE : I plan on sticking around Ekkamai, it's boring i know but there are at least 3 new clubs worth checking out : JET, GROOVE ( old but new) and FIT(open since a couple of days).

Jet is here: http://www.jetbangkok.com/

Oh and there is MUSE but i can't tell anyone it's on thonglor soi 10 100m left side cause they don't want tourists and hookers.

I'll be In Koh Samui in Feb/Mar and planning on visiting Koh Phanagan for full moon party on mar 10,

Is there any reason to stay in Koh phanagan longer than 1-2 nights for the full moon party? I've read the beaches aren't that nice (Read: broken beer bottles). Not sure if i should just take the ferry back to koh samui right away or not.

If there is any really nice beaches or something else to do that I can't do on Koh samui please recommend it to me.

Thanks

I would recommend staying 3-4 days on Koh Phangan before and up to the FMP. The nights leading up to it are usually fun and the beach won't be as crowded. Also, getting there a few days in advance helps huge when it comes to finding hotels. If you arrive day of or day before, almost everything will be booked and you will be stuck in some far off part of the island. I recommend Riin Beach Resort (rooms meh, but great pool, and location) which is like a ~8 min walk to the full moon beach and very close to all restaurants and other conveniences. As soon as you get off the ferry take an immediate right and its there. Rooms are pretty cheap too. I had a 2 bed bungalow for like 500 baht a night. Very good deal compared to what other people they told me they were paying for similar places.

Try stay at coco huts if you can, my brother stays in koh phanang for a few weeks everytime he goes for FM parties and loves it. The coco huts are like a motorbike ride away from the FM area with its own private beach etc...so it'll be a break from the main stuff giving you the best of both worlds i guess

I was there for last months FMP. I also stayed at Riin Beach Resort and highly recommend it, sweet pool and nice cheap rooms. I'd stay for about 5nights, the nights leading up to it are fun as, get there about 3-4days b4 it starts and get a room, get loads of buckets and fluro paint and go freakin nuts!

Big thanks to all the guys for the great night out, really cool bunch. First impressions; this place is sick. Very sick. And don´t ask me what I mean by sick, because I don´t know myself.

In bkk now, see you guys when I get back.

that seems about right. you might be able to get a better price if you come here and talk with the manager. i spoke with him the other day and he said that they've been getting a lot of cancellations due to the political instability so you could probably get low season prices.

either way, katamanda is the nuts.

ABout lucky 7 ( lucky VII on the sign ) Lucky VII is the new Lucky Pub. The owner of the old Lucky Pub which was a small After After Hours club closed the small club and opened the massive new Lucky

Quote:
Lucky VII is located in Din Daeng. Coming along Ratchaprarop from Silom end, go over the railway line turn right onto the low level elevated road (which itself is under the expressway), a couple of hundred meters along turn left to the Din Daeng exit and it is about ½ way to Din Daeng intersection on the right. You can also come in from the other end of the same low level elevated Rd, which starts just beside the toll way gates at Asoke. Thirdly you can also come in from the Din Daeng / Songkhro intersection itself.
Can someone translate that for me? I just have no idea where it's at now. I guess not far from the old lucky?

Some comments:

Quote:
Huge, nice set up, good tunes

The band is good, far better than Spice Soi 11

The building itself is an old movie cinema, really high ceilings great acoustics

It’s a huge three tiered club.

I believe Lucky will be outstanding in a few months
Quote:

is it 3tiers or 3 floors i have no idea
but indeed, i need to go there asap

In others news: i went to this local karaoke with a friend, about 1km from my place same road. ****hole obv but a dozen of girls with a few lookers ( especially a chinese looking 20yrs old angel with a massive rack ), ended up drinking like there was no tomorrow. But still, 14 beers for two??!? (65cl) this is insane.

Maybe even more insane is the girl i pulled there. As soon as we seated 2 young birds sat next to us only to be pushed away by the older girls ( pecking order ) of course dead drunk like everyone else i just take the closest girl available.
ahahah
32 years of abuse and she cried when i said in the morning :

- Mai pen rai, no bahts i your girlfriend
- Hum, no no mai dai mai dai
- Yes yes daaaarling
- I pay you, i like better to pay than you be my girlfriend
- (cry) ******* ***** ****** *** ****** **** ( leave )

oh yes yes thats lucky7, its 3tiers. It has good space for dancing and pool tables on the top stage. Prices are okay, the music and sound system are good. Crowd mostly freelancers and farang . It doesnt get too crowded though. It is alot better then spice or spicey and its open until 8am

I cant really explain where it is but its not too far from old lucky and not far from ratchada.

katamanda's "special rates" are ridicilously overpriced. Noway are you getting even decent value for your money with those rates. you are obviously getting all the bills on top of that and they overcharge interwebs a lot too because you only have one choice there.

what i liked there was the tennis court, security, view, gym (although small) and the overall atmosphare

the big minus is the price. if you are looking for a place from february onwards i am sure you would find better value for your money

cliffs: katamanda is nice but overpriced
