moneybookers does NOT work for poker sites.
but obviously there are ways around it, since it relies on a simple ip check.

For bangkok:

Suk soi 33 or Narathiwas Rd in between Silom and Sathon (sort of close to Covenant) for location? Which would you chose and why?

Also anyone have experience with CNC Heritage in general or specifically their internet? Same for Shangarila Suite?

This news might affect some people. just note that the only change is that you will only get 15 day stamp and not the 30 days if you take some visarun to myanmar or somewhere and you dont have a visa

30-days border runs now only 15 days

BANGKOK: -- In order to limit the amount of foreigners using "back-to-back" border runs, Thai Immigration has issued a new regulation regarding the 30 days tourist exemption.

Effective immediately, travellers without visa will get only 15 days of stay if they are arriving via a land border checkpoint from a neigboring country.

Passengers arriving via an international airport will obtain a 30 days stay, and for them there is no change.

Travellers with Malaysian passports will obtain a 30 days stay.

This police order number 778/2551 is today confirmed by Royal Thai Police, Immigration Bureau, in Bangkok.

they do ask it but atleast they dont require any info at the embassy in helsinki. as for address any guest house or hotel address should do. you shouldnt need to prove any of that anyways.

don't use an agent. go to the local thai embassy/consulate closest to where ever you live in person. fill out the forms in person. it takes like 10 minutes and you can go pick up your visa/passport the next day typically.

you do not need to provide references for a tourist visa, and 'phuket hotel' is sufficient for an address of where you're staying.

sukhumvit 33 is full of working girls bars. If you dont mind that its a good location next to a lot of restaurants, skytrain station and emporium witch is a pretty big hi-so shopping center.

My MB account is linked to the UK, from a Thai IP i could use it for Ladbrokes and Party, could send money back to my UK bank but couldn't use it for FTP and i imagine Oz would be the same.

Then again Thailand is chaotic so don't count on anything working. Sort as much stuff out as possible before you leave.
