So... what is the best time of year to be in Thailand? Like not balls hot/humid wanting to off myself. Where do most people seem to enjoy? I assume BKK is my only option as I'm a city person at heart, but trips to the beaches seem to be the things to do.

I'm moving back to Argentina in January, but looking to vacation Thailand for a few months during some portion of the year. Souther Hemisphere winter is ideal, but I'm open to other options.

Also, for rentals, what should I expect to pay for a baller (and I mean baller, not some of this sort of nice places posted) apartment in BKK in a good location. Say 2-3 bedroom.

Thanks.

dec to feb is the best ime and the most crowded too, BKK is your place and the beaches are just 1-2 hour flight hours away.

In regards to the apratment you can pay up to 10K USD a month if you dont mind. But most places only rent 1 years contracts and more. Iam not that rich so I dont know much about the high end market but ask pumpui...oh wait

gonna move to bkk in a february. looking for a 2bdr apartment. clicking on ofdabeats link this is the first thing i came up with which seems pretty sweet

http://www.bangkokfinder.com/rental-...perty1350.html

basically im looking for a comfortable furnished 2bdr with a pool anywhere between national stadium and ekkamai. i think the condo i linked is a great for the price, but its on the net so I can probalby find a better deal if i walk around. the thing is, I'm lazy and would rather pay farang prices than sweat my ass for a few days trying to negotiate prices around bkk. if anyone knows of a similareeesh place for quite a bit less, please let me know. I'll fund all the singha and ping pong balls you can buy for a night.

Hey schreech the condo you posted is probably in the noble ora on thong lor (sukhumvit 55). Its a very good location in a hip thai surrounding with lot of cafe, club and restaurants around. For that kind of price its difficult to find better imo. The only downturn is that you have to take a short taxi or motorbike trip to go to the skytrain, but thong lor is really nice anyway. You could also check on www.prakard.com its a thai real estate forum with some good deals.

You are once again ultra defensive / aggressive with me for no reason... last time already i told you that i have nothing against you and i never posted anything against you... And it was one week after seeing you in a club and having a quick friendly talk...

I'm not pumpui or whoever makes you paranoid. I was just trying to help i don't think anyone saw something negative in my message.

I know everything? lol ok i will stop posting infos or advice for you since I'm not being helpful but bragging in your mind. I thought it was a thread were people would ask question and give and receive advice...

PS: yes 80k is ridiculous and you are copiously fleeced but i'm pretty sure you know it already. funny i just ask my girl her opinion about your appartment and its price and she just said: "Stupid.".

I like it. It's next to my girl's apartment. I'll try to find something nice for 50k max budget ( right? ) during the week.

i agree with ofdabeat, Mr ofdabitte should stop posting hre so i can keep is awesome links and pointers all to myself because let's face it.. ofdabeat has been the only person in 1 year to post infos that are accurate and interesting besides 1 link that ryu-srb posted for 15k and less appartements.

PS: regarding raven's appartmenet, My gf also said something along the line of stupid. She's polite so she simply said that any non-****** could get the same thing for 20k baht less or better for 10k baht less

So i found these:

I like this one on ekkamai 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms 170 sqm. walking distance to asok ( soi cowboy) with Swimming Pool Gym Sauna Tennis Court Snooker to boot.
http://www.kkeasyhome.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?seq=3753

This one 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, maid's room 130 sqm might be a bit small but you have Swimming Pool Gym Sauna Playground Tennis Court Snooker and Squash court as a bonus.
http://www.kkeasyhome.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?seq=325

This is pretty alright too 170sqm 2beds 2 baths on sukhumvit soi 2 walking distance to bts big pool 45 000.
http://www.thai4rent.com/mambothai4r...emid=57&key=51

This one is 120sqm 2beds 1 bath for 45 000 but is located on wireless road which is in the top 3 locations where to live in bkk imho.
http://www.condobangkok.net/viewproperty.asp?id=206

Nice 150sqm 2beds/2baths on sukhumvit 4 ( nana ) for 40 000
http://www.letapartment.com/rent/propdetail.php?id=932

Some people really like suk22 so there is this 190sqm 2beds/2baths for 45000 a month. motorbike to bts i m afraid.
http://www.letapartment.com/rent/propdetail.php?id=718

Not bad to share 300sqm 3 beds/3baths for 35 000 on sukhumvit 12.
http://www.letapartment.com/rent/propdetail.php?id=639

This one is a bit on the expensive side for 80sqm 2beds 1 bath but the location and building is awesome suk 13 40 000/month.
http://www.letapartment.com/rent/propdetail.php?id=629

Old school 3beds 2 baths 143sqm on suk 43 next to bts. 40 000.
http://www.evehouse.com/detail.php?id=18373

I like this 2beds/2baths on thong lor walking distance to bts 155sqm with a rooftop pool for 45 000.
http://www.evehouse.com/detail.php?id=801

Might be cool to share a 4 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms house with a garden walking distance from BTS and the Emporium 90wsq ( 360sqm) for 50 000/ month
http://www.kkeasyhome.com/PropertyDetail.aspx?seq=7620

Should give you an good enough idea of the market.

So if I plan to be in Thailand May-Julyish how much will the weather piss me off? Mostly rain is my concern. Horrible humidity would also piss me off.

I didnt even say its baller in fact I didnt even brag about it to no one while youd would brag about it like you just bought a ferrari.

Now whats really funny about it that youre trying to turn it down but calling that house with a bed and a desk baller?wtf is wrong with this guy?lol

I dont even care what it costs its just a nice thing to have and ive never seen anyone have that and everybody thought its nuts, but obviously not for you. You are more into desks...and oversized TVs anno 1999

well pumpui and ofdabeat, I looked at your post and all the places you suggested are very old looking, some people are ready to pay a premium for a brand new modern looking place in a perfect location, very close to a BTS, it's called a free market. Of course you can get a pretty nice place for cheap if you want to live 30 mins in car from on nut BTS or whatnot...

Most thai people do not understand the price, mostly because they dont care of living around sukhumvit, or of having a modern looking place instead of an old european classical look, which is all there is in like 5 years and older apartment in bangkok. Also a poker players who plays decent hours for midstakes NL wont care about throwing a buyin a month sharing an apartment with friends i guess...

I have been living in bangkok for some time too.
