but how the hell do u manage to stay alive in a small town with nothing to do, nothing in english, nothing but thai food with no sanitation standards, no good hospital, no other hot girls to look at, no gym, no shopping, no beach..

theres not much else to do there but grind 10hours a day, watch tv 2 hours, sex then sleep?

Hey how can you say that without even being in here already lol

I have like 10 waterfall at 20 minute by scooter max :

The hospital is top :

http://khunhanhos.ssko.moph.go.th/

The food is Ok, have 2 markets open all the time, 7 eleven at 1 min by scooter and like 10 restaurants with all food available.

all the beautiful girls arent only in the big city of thailand lol, about gym well even if i dont need it there is a sport center, shopping is even better than any big city since is even cheaper on market (not that we really care i know) there is Tesco, Big C.. about the beach, yeah its missing but i already been to pattaya, koh phangan and phuket, and after like 10 years in south of France, i can leave without beach even if i always go there with plaisure since they are just wonderfull in thailand hehe

Seriously, this is a Great place hehe.

dunno but im not really into wearing fruity hawai type shirts that they sell at markets or big c

I'd just get insanely bored without italian/jap food, good non-thai burgers, hot uni chix, no AC in comp room, no sick ballah cinema and only having waterfalls as entertainement.. but maybe you're old and you like that kind of thing, i was just wondering.

u should def get a couple dogs, probably can get more interesting conversation with them than most thais unless your life is centered on food and funny fat people and boing boing noise that u can hear on tv shows

no, i just think its damn ******ed to move to a third world country to live in a third world way.

it's nice to take part of the little culture they have left that hasnt been sabotaged by their greed, but besides that the point is to live like you couldn't in the west very cheaply.

I think the very few people who move to villages or smaller areas that are completely 100% thai, don't know the difference between 'getting used to something' and genuinely enjoying it compared to what phuket/hua-hin/bangkok has to offer

I also know that most people who moved to those places and think are happy is because they finaly get laid by something better than a fat 2/10 girl so they sacrifice everything else for their first real acceptable tail.

Am i so wrong? Theres a whole forum filled with those people(thaivisa) and your post made me think of that whole forum which i troll hard to make those bastard with thai babies that werent made with their own sperm hate their life.

Hey, i agree with everything you said..
The only thing i dont get is : what make you think i "live in a third world way"

I mean, this is not because this city (not village) isnt called Phuket/bangkok [insert any other you may think 'big'] that i cant **** on proper toilet, take a good shower.. eat japaneese food.. or go any disco at night.

Im just here since March, i was in bkk during 4 months, enjoyed it a lot of course, phuket was nice also and YES they do offer more than smaller citys (i miss RCA Plaza, bkk) but seriously this is far from what you may think dude.

Sounds like you're enjoying yourself there. The house isn't exactly baller but it looks fine enough and 2k is absurdly cheap. Glad you posted these pics and the information. Its cool to see what people are doing in other parts of Thailand because it seems like almost everyone is based in Phuket/BKK. I'm sure I would miss some Western comforts that larger cities have but if you need a break you could always just go to BKK for a week or something. Any idea of what the population is in your city?

Well I pay 3k bahts a month for a 90sqm 30min from bkk.
It's a very normal price for the countryside. One of my colleague pays 1500 bahts a month for his 2bedrooms near central rama2.

The difference in price is stagering, white aspargus: 150 bahts for 10 at emporium, 10 bahts for ten in the market near my place.

Thai hookers place: bkk 600barfine 1500 on average for the girl. 100bahts for a small beer, 120 for ladydrinks.
Thai hooker place near my place 0 bahts barfine, 60bahts for a big bottle of beer, 150 for the room, 500 for the girl. Thai people give 300 to the girl usually.

Restaurant next to fishing lake with farang and thai food: 25 bahts for most thai dishes, a chicken steak arroi maak with salad and fries : 50bahts.

and so on... it's just that in big cities/farang places the price of stuff is insane, how do you think thai people with 7000bahts a month can afford to live?

Thai-Chinese To Celebrate End of Vegetarian Festival By Feasting On Endangered Species, Rare Birds
“The last couple of days I have been constantly dreaming of sinking my teeth into some grilled pangolin,” said one local.

BANGKOK – Goodbye tofu, hello Tibetan antelope. Thailand’s Chinese community is eagerly anticipating the end of its annual “gin jae” vegetarian festival today so it can resume its consumption of the world’s endangered species and wild animals.

All along Yaorawat Road, vendors served up their last plates of mee and tofu satay to customers salivating at the thought of their first guilt-free pangolin, soft shell turtle or shark fin since the festival started nine days ago.

“I am so bored of vegetables I think I will eat twice as many seahorses this week,” said seven-year-old Theerawan Chaiwut, whose parents made him “gin jae” for the first time this year.

Many locals are making extravagant plans for special dinners.

“I would like to eat an aborted reindeer foetus,” said Nittiya Damrhongsutchai.

Wan Kitchawornseesuk, a gold shop owner, said: “I just got my order of bear paws in for tonight’s feast. One for every member of the family. Actually, it is 16 claws in all, which means an entire family of bears were de-pawed for this meal. We will regain our strength immediately.”

Salesman Saeng Bandhuprabhasa revealed, “I am having an American eagle flown in specially for the occasion.”

Asked how the endangered bird will be prepared, Saeng said, “It is up to my wife but I have always wanted to try khao mon Eagle. The rest of it, such as the beak, head and claws, will be deep fried. Don’t worry. Nothing will be wasted.”

For many local Thai-Chinese, the vegetarian festival has been an arduous fast that has deprived them of their typical intake of “magical” ingredients and vitamins.

Eighty-two-year-old Chuan Abhibanrajmaitree complained his eye sight had been failing him all week. “If I don’t eat owl, I cannot even read the paper,” he shouted.

Phahon Nitisastrapaisal, who normally ensures a good night's sleep by chewing on tiger claws before going to bed, said, “Tofu tiger claw is just not the same.”

Some locals never broke their habits in the first place. Pote Bencharoen said he decided to skip the vegetarian festival altogether and maintain his regular diet. “Last year, I didn’t eat any tiger penis and I couldn’t **** my wife for a month. She was not happy.”

So my visa expires tomorrow and I'll be needing to go somewhere with a consulate and get a proper tourist visa this time.

I've read some bad reviews of the consulates/embassies in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Any ideas or advice on where to go and what to do to make sure I can get a visa?

At the moment I'm leaning towards KL even though I've been there before. It's just a short, cheap flight from Phuket.

Anyone have experience with a consulate nearby? Penang, etc?

-Bill

Penang is probebly best bet and when i was there you didnt even had to go to consulate, you could go to some agency that takes your passport and get the visa for you so you dont need to wait or wake up early.

I seem to remember reading that it's harder to get visas in Penang now. I could be wrong but it's worth your while to skim through a few threads at thaivisa.com. Vientienne is still giving out double entry tourist visas with no hassle. just remember to put x2 in the upper right hand corner.

There seem to be a million Thailand threads but I figured this was the most appropriate one for my questions...

Is there a professional soccer (football) league in Thailand?
If so, how popular is it/how many fans attend matches?
If you're a soccer fan, how's the level of play?

Thanks
