They accepted the withdraw from the pokersite. Will they continue to accept them? Has anybody else received this before? I initiated a withdraw from moneybookers to my bank, will I have a problem with this? Any information would be appreciated.
Wait, what?

I've deposited and withdrawn several times in the past 2 weeks at poker sites using moneybookers. I seriously hope that I can still make withdrawals to MB and then to my bank account!

I need advise in renting a car in Phuket.
Theres three types of plates, right?
Last time we had one with white plates and one with red. Is it so that you aren't allowed to drive out of Phuket with red plates? Do rental offices have only red plated cars?

Planning to rent a Hilux or a Camry for couple months to drive in Phuket and the mainland

From my last moneybookers login:

Important notice

Moneybookers does not allow customers from your country of residence to make payments to and from gambling (sportsbetting/casino/poker/bingo) websites.

So now what's a brother to do? Do I have to move to Canada and establish an address there?

Feck!

Anybody noticed any difference since the new computer laws?

http://www.thailawforum.com/news/2008/news-Aug2-08.html

Computer Violation Act

22 Aug 2008

The Computer Violation Act, to take effect on 23 August, requires internet service providers, businesses, schools, hotels, banks, government agencies, apartment and residential complexes, Internet cafes and game shops to retain Internet traffic data of users for a period of 90 days so that police are able to track down persons engaged in cyber crime. Internet cafés are mandated to collect the identity of computer users, log in time, and websites visited.

The Act also stipulates that all companies engaged in commercial and business services through use of computer systems set their computers to Thai Standard Time (TST), the official national time, which is 7 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). According to media sources, instructions for setting computers to TST can be found at www.navy.mi.th/hydro/time

Violators of the new Act face a fine of between 100,000 to 500,000 baht.

EDIT: I've read about internet cafe shops being raided by police demanding money from owners because of illegal activites on their computers. Maybe this is why the law was invented, easy money for Mr.Officer?

And on another pretty serious note:

anybody in Bangkok now to report on the demonstrations and things that are happening?

Seems like the situation is escalating, police beat down protesters and such. And now protesters been blocking airports in Phuket, Hat Yai and Krabi.

Seems the protesters will not back down until "they win the battle." word is this could get ugly if police and military decides to really put an end to it.

anybody got any reports from over there?

EDIT: can recommend http://www.nationmultimedia.com/ for following the events in this matter

i think the problem is police not beating down on idiots in other countries

i have no idea whats happening since i havnt had the time to read the newspaper recently
but i do know that if in my country they would kick the ass of those stupid protesters.

1) less public damage
2) less waste of time on the evening news
3) less punks in the street, more in the hospital
4) less hippy's in college..most of them in hospital = good

can anyone give some cliffnotes about this political crisis?

One political party doesn't like the other active government. Declare intention to pseudo-peacefully overthrow active government. Active government remaining relatively tolerant just arresting leaders and such, but looking to get ready to lay the smack down.

Can you confirm this is True Sport 3 and not 4? Last year it was 4 and missing the playoffs especially pissed me off. CNBC shows the Sun and Mon night games the following weekend which sucks and is better than nothing. You can also buy a pass to legally stream the games live (outside the US) if your connection is fast and stable enough.

Cue pumpui "NFL is just a bunch of idiots in pads running into each other" comments

I really doubt it because the 1PM games start at 1am and most bars will be closing during the game. If Safari started showing games live on a big screen, I might be tempted to move back to Phuket. ESPN shows 1 college game/week both live and rebroadcast at a more convenient time.
