1. How should I approach the visa situation since I have no proof of income for the last months?
2. How do taxes work for poker players?

Thank You
Can show a bank statement for proof of income, if not will have to fake one but afaik is needed when applying for a tourist visa.

Read the fred. Plenty of info there, it's always the same questions. Regarding the visa you should first check which one you want to apply to anyway. You can also just come on visa exemption and figure it out on the ground if you want to stay. As for taxes poker is illegal in TH and you should not mention it to anyone outside your inner circle. As a result it would be pretty silly if you would start paying taxes on it...

Bitcoin is the easiest option, make yourself an account on Bitkub or Satang and a thai bank account and you're all set for deposits and withdrawals.

when you arrive via plane from germany to bkk, they ask for some proof of continue, like another flightticket after the 30days visa on arrival.
in 2014 i think i had some flight to cambodia. is there any other cheap variant which i can maybe even cancel and get money back cause i want when im in bkk extend the visa +30days
cheers

Book a fully refundable ticket, available at most airlines, or use bestonwardticket or the like, just google. IME in TH they don't ask, I think they never asked me but YMMV. If unlucky the airline may ask at check-in but then you can still book one on short notice. Other countries ask

Normally they will not ask. Neither the airline nor the Thai immigration. I also flew from germany to Thailand one way.

I wish man. I just got back to Thailand a few weeks back.

Bitkub requires proof of taxes paid somewhere, which I ofc do not have being a poker pro. Satang calls my Thai phone number invalid even though it is not. So I can't figure out how to solve this issue. My plan was to convert BTC to THB.

You know any other options?

I've heard that the fees are absolutely outrageous, but I'll check it out.

EDIT: 3.5% for just exchanging, and then cashout fee. Hard pass.

Can Thai Elite work with a girlfriend if you have proof you've been living together 2+ years? I'm guessing not.

We could both buy our own, but I think that would cost like 300k extra than if I could just include her on one of the family plans.

zipmex, but i havent tried it yet

i use bitkub and it works even though it kept reminding me to KYC i just ignored it, still works

other option is being a seller on localbitcoins, at market rate or 1% profit to undercut most sellers on there wanting more than 1%. post an ad and wait for buyer

another option is to fund MuchBetter with crypto and withdraw to Thai bank, fees are pretty high though

I ended up using Binance to buy USDC and deposited using that. Worked...eventually! Also I wasnt asked about an onwards ticket at any point, I risked not being asked and I assumed it wouldnt be too much hassle to try and arrange a quick one if needed

Hello guys, can you still get a thai visa in the neighboring countries (cambo, vietnam or indonesia) ? I remember reading somewhere that you can only apply for a visa in your home country or something along those lines. I remember back in the day it was really easy to get one in Cambodia...

Yah, you can still do that in some foreign countries, but the difficulty varies a lot. The Facebook group Thai visas usually has up to date info on the easier embassies to go to.

What you CAN'T get in a neighboring country is a Multiple Entry Tourist Visa, all other visas should be fine afaik. Easiest embassy has always been Vientiane although it got slightly harder in recent years and now you have to book an appointment in advance.

Going to spend a few days in Patong. Anybody knows any good sauna/day spa in the area, ideally kinda like Amba on Samui? Google search is inconclusive. No massage/sexy time needed, I'm sure there are plenty of choices on that, also no gay sauna cheers.

I'm like 80% sure I'm doing the 5-year Elite Visa with my girlfriend in April and moving to Bangkok. Just gotta work out some logistics, like marrying her, so we can apply together on the cheapest family plan (price goes from 600k to 800k Baht).

Getting pretty amped and already researching a bunch of info and started learning Thai this week. Just 15 minutes a day practicing new letters for now.

One of the coolest things is cheap direct flights to so many places (India even), and especially Tokyo and Seoul. Bangkok seems like an awesome base. I've never been east of Georgia country, so I'm excited to knock out most of the cool Asian destinations over the next 5 years. Also excited to burn all my coats bc I'd rather deal with 40 degree temps (Celsius) than 5-10.

I've heard you can leave right before your 5 years ends and when you return you get a 1-year stamp, so we can probably stretch it to 5 years, 11 months if we want. It's a steep price, but never having to worry about visas and having a home base for awhile instead of country hopping ever 1-3 months will probably save me double what the visa will cost.

The timezone will be a plus too I think. It's exactly 12 hours difference from USA central time so I can play poker on the apps in the morning when games are best (like 8am to 3pm ish) then finish and have the rest of the day to mess around. I'm kinda getting sick of the standard poker player, wake up after noon whenever, so a more structured morning routine sounds nice.

Have you ever been here before? Plan sounds good but I wouldn't commit to 5 years unless you've been here before, come on a tourist visa or visa exemption first then just apply for Elite when here if you like it.
