I'm not the troll who tried to convince young grinders to stay back home (can't recall his name) instead of having some fun and adventure for indefinite periods of time but I feel things have seriously turned against westerners in Thailand in a dangerous way.
I haven't been there in a while I married a Myanmar-Chinese girl and our town in Shan state got airstriked by the military so now we've moved to the UK lol, was planning to anyway as our kids are old enough for preschool
Thailand doesn't have the same urban crime as the US / Europe for farang that can afford to live in a nice area with security so while I've been out of the loop a while, it may still be safer to live in than the west, as long as they don't get involved with drugs, bargirls, or run a business that competes with locals
Obviously we aren't looked up to as much as we were 10 years ago but part of that will also just be globalization, modernity and their economy getting rekt. Nothing ever happened to me but then again poker players are introverted, smart and work online. The truth is no doubt somewhere in between your posts and those that say its super safe, lots of expats do get murdered. I didn't get any attitude from Thai guys. I did notice way less interest on dating apps the last 5 years, the days of uni girls coming straight to my place to bang dried up
lol69 was his name maybe he'll come back if bitcoin drops another 98% from here to meet his predictions
