If talking Thailand only, Then Nai harn/Rawai(Phuket) area always been pretty popular with poker players/expats, the only area that still has abit of life around it in Phuket due to the expat population, food is great there, and tons of gyms and stuff to do if youre into staying in shape. I always wanna move there but the degen has a grip of me too hard.

Hey, just a little update from my time in state quarantine.

On the plane, we were all packed into rows with every seat filled, even though other large sections of the plane were empty. People wore masks but honestly I feel like if someone had covid on the plane then lots would get it. They also took temperature checks which mean nothing - basically all just theater.

From the plane, we were escorted to a lineup where they took your temperature etc. and you handed in your documentation. From there you got onto a bus straight to SQ. Mine was in Ratchada (bangkok) so I was lucky, I have heard of people doing it in shittier venues. The hotel is a standard 3 star, old building, about what you would expect in a shitty phuket hotel or something like that.

At the hotel I did something smart, the first day I called and said I don't eat rice. (I do.) It sounds weird but basically every meal comes with rice but every meal my rice was replaced with either an egg or steamed vegetables. I didn't know how to say no carbs so I just didn't eat the noodles. I think this trick made my time a lot better.

Overall the meals were very clean and healthy and small (appropriately) sized, I was getting pretty good stuff. They asked if I had dietary restrictions initially like if you dont want blood or whatever but I said I eat everything. If you went to a hospital it is kind of like that, clean food not much sugar oil salt etc. but strong flavor at times, and good "home style" quality. I like thai food (real thai food) so I was pretty happy with this. I saw some pictures here of people getting mounds of yuck pasta etc. my experience wasn't like that at all. Btw you can't order any food from uber/grab etc. during this time (I don't see why but that's the rule.)

Here is a food log since I arrived:
D: Tom yum with rice and egg

B: rice jok (didnt eat)
L: 4 chicken wings, cup of vegetable soup, rice swapped to an egg
D: ka mhu, pakboong with raw chili and garlic, egg, another egg (swapped rice)

B: noodle soup with pork ribs and blood
L: chicken curry, steamed veg (was rice), 1 egg

Overall very happy with this food tbh, I think it's probably gonna make me feel better than whatever bullshit I order normally.

Last thing I will say is you absolutely need a sim card that can get unlimited fast thai internet, and if you dont have one then get someone to drop one off for you during collection. The hotel internet is complete garbage because everyone tries to use it at once - I mean like you cant even search google 1kbps kind of thing. At night it frees up to normal. You won't have any opportunity once you land to get one before you get to SQ. If I didn't have a good sim card I would be so ****ed (I'd probably try to sleep during the day and use internet at night.)

Samui is ofc beautiful but I found the food to be mainly chain restaurants that suck/overpriced or Thai places, was kinda like patong(and the food sucks
Here) good thing about nai harn is that there is a ton of expats around who have started up good food places essentially catering to all the guys training down there. So there is a good mix of good food at reasonable prices. I actually drive to eat there several time’s a week and it’s about a 40 min drive.

Ofc I only went to Samui for like 5 Days, so I coulda missed a pocket of good food/area somewhat similar.

Samui has the best breakfast I've had in Thailand, La Fabrique Bakery, Chaweng location was the best one.

Micro penis whining, how to approach girls IRL like a boss with top secret paper notes, white skin VS dark skin discuss, degen TR, optimal low STDs risk strategy by raw dogging only 18-23yo hookers talks, 'how I met my Taiwanese sugar mama in a dormitory hotel in Cambodia'. Fuark, I miss the old days.

Wasn't the guy who simply walked up to girls in PH and stuck a paper with his number on it into their hands also the cheapest guy in the world?

'how I met my Taiwanese sugar mama in a dormitory hotel in Cambodia'.

What was the name of that thread again? It was fantastic. Not as good as the dog tuxedo one, but good.

I have been in Romania since 3 months, went full FML mode since I arrived here. Long story short, I have a code that I usually follow. Since I arrived here, I did the opposite: went HARDCORE yolo mode, hung out with gypsies and small ethnic groups that you probably have never heard about, started dating a HBB 27yo girl (3 kids and 'soon' to be divorced) from a gangster family. I played too much with fire, almost burned myself a few times, dodged a few bullets, thank god I am not street stupid, not street fkn smart tho, maybe somewhere in the middle.

A few songs that I discovered since I moved here:

Spoiler:

Gypsy hit

Gypsy classic

Gypsy French gangster musica

Old school Romanian rap (literally the only non US/French group that all their songs are dope)

Bonus track

can anyone recommend a flight booking site with good cancellation insurance policy?

Just book direct from an airline that will give you another flight if yours gets cancelled for some reason.

I guess a separate insurance is recommended though in case your COVID test turns positive and they won't let you board.

Do you have to do a Covid test before you leave Thailand? I'm pretty sure Canada doesn't require anything to enter country if you're returning home, just self quarantine for 2 weeks after.

Check the airline, airport and country information. I'm not from Canada so no idea about that. Every country does it's own thing right now regarding COVID policies.

Check momondo.com / kayak.com for flights and then book directly from an airline if they have reasonable COVID policies like another flight option if the flight is cancelled. Will cost a bit more but you won't deal with insurance claim hassles.

Gonzo72 is right. Once in a while have to express my gratefulness to the inspiration of this thread and the line of existentialist philosophers Sartre - Camus - Jspill - K2D
