They also promoted it in HK, nobody that I know of willing to go under these terms obv. After the initial phase I doubt they will even get their target 300/week. Peeps are desperate in these times but probably not that desperate. Surely, a completely out of touch govt, but that's not exactly new or exclusive
1300 sq ft apt in HK is quite a brag.

I'm waiting for the quarantine restrictions from the Mainland to end to visit/sign an insurance agreement.

Are you by yourself? I'm in a similarly sized place, but with company it's no problem.

All the people undergoing quarantine and extended lockdowns in tiny rooms / apartments must lose their sh*t though, with financial pressure, social unrests etc.

A friend will go through a 14 day quarantine in a tiny 200 sqft hotel room in Guangzhou soon. People are separated and you can't stay together in a room.

Will be interesting to see the mental effect.

I should have done more of that, there is def something to learn here. Thing is, I was not aware of the problem until I stepped back out into the non-flat world. I even have a small gym corner in my apt with weights, bench, mat, abs-roller that I purchased during the initial lockdown and was working out there at times. But apparently it should have been more and missed some muscles. I have more appreciation now what long-term injured, astronauts etc. go through. Day 3 out, it's getting better now, still not 100% though

I was by myself, I live alone, so nobody was allowed to visit. You are correct there. It was certainly not helpful to my mental health and I would consider myself a relatively level-headed person. I could certainly see some people reacting very adverse to this.

I just finished my 14 days mandatory state quarantine upon returning to Canada. I was by myself, alone in my house, with no visitors allowed and it went perfectly fine. I think people like you are over dramatizing it, especially as an pro online poker player.

Those 14 days actually have been one of the most productive days of the year. Took the time to clean and sort thing in my house since I was gone for over 2 years, did a lot of studying and reading, diet is much more healthy since I cant go eat out. Theres plenty of small 2 weeks training on the internet that target people stuck inside with no equipment, I did that one:

https://www.chloeting.com/program/20...challenge.html

Yesterday was my first day out and I went hiking the whole day and I was in even better shape than my local friend than never had to quarantine.

Congrats, maybe it's just me, I don't know. Some people def just take this like a work stint or something and don't even think much about it. Everyone's different. I went on a small hike the first day out too, I finished it but no brag material there.

I think it depends on how autistic / anti social / busy with mental tasks you are, but if you're used to cohabitate with people you like for years it gets pretty tough to be alone.

That's why a lot of guys that go through absolutely horrible divorces that cripple them financially and psychologically marry for the nth time...

*pic was oldboy, how the fk do I upload pics nowadays??*

I got into that sorta routine on lockdown also, almost a lock that I was more productive, the tough part for me was looking at how incompetent the decisions made where. Would be alot easier to go through the motions if I agreed and thought what I was doing was the optimum strat.

I tend to think he's an autistic miscer, probably really into conspiracy theories, who just reads way too into things and has a very negative outlook on everything.

Georgia and Croatia made digital nomads visa this year. I didn't know Estonia also had one. Than again, why would anyone would want to go live there.

Can't bother to read the hatred and bile from boomer grandpas. They're as self rightous and nasty as Karens these days and I wish they'd just die already...

Most thais don't pay taxes at all, there are double tax treaties if you have a company / are self employed (i.e. with the UK) and managing your business from a foreign country while on short or long holiday is not a crime. Tax residence is usually established after 180 days but I doubt even boomer grandpa ever had to report anything to thai tax authorities. It's a dysfunctional politically unstable 3rd world country ffs with a new coup every couple years.

I'd like to see pattaya grandpa find a successful prosecution.

Regarding the visa: Never going to happen.

Is it even official? Last I checked there were no details and it hadn't been fully approved by their congress yet. Hopefully it'll be ready in 2021, I might take advantage.

As a digital nomad Georgia should be on your radar, 365 days visa, they literally give you a full year and you can simply renew it every year lol.

Everything is super cheap as well, got to be a decent option if you wanted to stay on the euro side of the world.

Tax free living as well, they have territorial tax system.

I read a bit about Georgia, but the location seems subpar and a big motivation would be an eventual route to an EU passport. So Croatia or even Estonia are much more attractive for me b/c of that.. On top of that Tbilisi itself seems like a meh city.

They are increasing price for thai elite visa by 20% from January 1st 2021. -.-

I'm just waiting a year or two till consequences of ruined economy + all these thai gov solutions will start to kicking in.

They're already running a revolution right now Laos style.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laotian_Civil_War

Keeping foreigners out and borders closed is all part of the plan.

If you think Thailand / hassle free international travel will come back anytime soon I think you're delusional.

I know of people that were kept for up to two months in quarantine hospitals due to testing positive for corona in other countries. (never really being severely sick during this time)

Good luck planning travel like that and not everybody is down taking barely tested mystery injections for every new mutation just to be able to travel if they ever even develop one.

ILIA:

1. Thai gov can't keep this status quo forever. Eventually they will ruin economy to a point that there will be no other option than just to open fully as in 2019.

2. Vaccine might or might not to come. Probably not. Spanish flu 100 years ago went away after 2 years with few waves(2nd one was the strongest), no vaccine just herd immunity. We're currently in 2nd wave and 7 months in overall with Covid. Most of epidemics we encountered never had vaccines, herd immunity took care of it.

worst case scenario: herd immunity and ruined economy will solve this out by the end of 2022
best case scenario: we will have a vaccine tomorrow

Speaking of Laos. I banged this Laos chick on the first date and then i've read there is a law they can't sleep with foreigners or something like that. I guess i'm running above EV as i am not writing this from prison in Laos.

- Look broke
- Be friendly
- She ain't crazy
- Don't record it

Just the other day:

https://laotiantimes.com/2020/10/15/...or-sex-crimes/

Probably blackmail (a lot of chinese doing biz there and regularly get murdered in robberies to steal cash from them), pissed off the girl or w/e.

Interaction with 3rd world pattaya people are pretty much a gamble varying between great to moderate scam attempts to straight up murdering blackmailing thiefs.

Don't forget: Locals are the law and the locals will always side against you.

This guy is a well known pedo and was making child porno.

Edit: Also most murdered Chinese are murdered by other Chinese rivals.

Get your fact straight at least.
