My wife just sent me this. Apparently the Thai government is saying foreigners can possibly return to Thailand in October. I can't read Thai so I don't know what is says.

I read something about just letting them on Phuket at first. They wouldn't be allowed to travel other places + would have to quarantine for 2 weeks I think. Kinda pointless for most ppl.

Designated hotels in Phuket, guests have to stay within a 1 km designated radius, that will be sealed of from the rest of the public. After 14 days, they can venture in to the rest of Phuket if they test negative, and another 7 days, if they want to go to other parts of Thailand.

Sounds like prison camps to me...

Next thing you know they make you wear tracking ankle bracelets cause all falang criminal so we need to know what you evil falang are doing and then you need to hand over all your savings like with the chartered airline racket during corona so you can leave the country.

The way the world is going I would stay the hell away from South East Asia as there is a very real chance that the impoverished masses will turn on you.

Keep in mind only certain hotels will be quarantine hotels. They will be partnered with hospitals. So its going to cost much more to stay at then your normal two week holiday.

its basically for the euros who take 2+ month holidays to Thailand during the winter time and not normal tourists. Not sure how many will end up coming but i guess something is better than nothing. Winter is pretty depressing in places like Finland I can imagine Finnish tourists be willing to go through quarantine.

Sounds like a typical all inclusive resort. Lots of people basically go to resorts to get fat and drunk and work on their sunburn. If priced attractively, I can see lots of people doing this.

Is there a list of designated hotels yet? You know if Burasari is on the list?

I agree it should cater to the all-inclusive resort type customers, but with frequent covid tests etc, I have my doubts it will be priced reasonably.

Down off soi 11(think that’s it, Oskar street) how are the usual options these days (cowboy, soi 4)?, came for a date with some instagram girl(hooker % guess maybe 55% of the time?, but doesn’t give off absolute vibes like bottle stories every night like it’s the first time they got one) I was thinking Oskar, but looked packed as f tonight, which could be a Saturday thing, but overall looked not too much fun and more guy who’s trying to impress girl on a date vibes. Rainbow 4 and 5 and random on 2nd floor of Nana were good a few weeks ago if you like the Asian style girls. Not sure how it looks it right this minute Nana has been dead things change fast. Prices are down quite a bit so make sure to haggle. Billboard and butterflies 3rd floor have went to complete **** unless u like older tatted girls so dont bother with them. Actually you can pretty much skip the rest of Nana I hit most of them. Twister was okkkkk.

Cowboy is complete crap now. Even Baccara and crazy house so skip that too.

Yea think rainbow was one of them, went upstairs but ton of places had changed names etc, so just kinda went where I was told, cowboy was better tbh, ended up in a nightclub with a Muay Thai fighter who fought(th) he could best everyone at pool for drinks, ended up besting him twice and got free rolled, then got a taxi to arguably the most degen bar I’ve ever been, patts encluded. Persecuting foreigners of all creeds is a thai national past time and they smile in arrogant glee when the police shows off westerners for petty offenses or outstanding warrants back home.

Koh Thao mafia murders dozens of foreigners - peasant migrant workers get scapegoated and nothing happens to the mafia.

Westerners going about their life: All kinds of things get construed against them to extort money or to get rid of competition.

Then there are also crazy vengeful women who use the law full of ambiguities and grey areas that normally nobody cares about against foreigners to get them imprisoned, expropriated or kicked out of the country if they don't have a gangster boyfriend at hand to murder the foreigner (the murder will never get investigated).

Even if you just spend money and go about your day you aren't safe from the jealousy, greed and hatred of thais against foreigners...

Things are going to get way more dystopian than the west very soon given that their economy is wrecked and foreigners are under watchful eyes 24/7 with ever more anti foreign laws being put into place.

It's probably a scapegoating attempt by the elite to distract attention from them as they buy up all assets for cheap when people go bankrupt.

Best to head to eastern Europe asap if you're from the EU where you'll be a human among humans if you aren't particularly obnoxious and rents are similar in many places to Thailand.
