Cheers jspill, std Thai style for sure... I expected as much tbh as I've not read of any progress or further info regarding this thus far, and on other forums it doesn't seem as though anyone has been able to obtain one. Only singles still being given to date afaik.

I need to leave the country shortly, currently on a Non I O. Would I be able to do a land hop and extend for 30, or would I only get 14? I've been railing the situation looking for confirmation that the doubles have been reinstated, so could delay for another 30 if they may be available in in the new year. Otherwise, may as well just go get a single now.

re psycho cop; read about that earlier...

He added in a direct message to tourists: "You can have confidence in the Thai police. I want to tell all tourists - Thailand is safe. We will do everything to ensure your safety and convenience while in the country".

Hi guys looking to rent a property in Thailand. I've been looking at tons of properties in Phuket with a very reasonable £2k/85k baht per month budget but lots of their prices are inflated to 2x even 3x during high season compared to low season. Any one had any experience in negotiating with agents to reducing the renting prices? Surely knocking off at least 20-30% is seems achievable ? I'm assuming these asking absurd prices to hook the rich who do little to no research with little fuss

The land hop gives you 30 days if you're one of these nationalities, changed from what used to be 15 https://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic...-more-15-days/

Then the extension of that is another 30 days for pretty much every nationality, one exception being Indian passports get 7 days

Look on airbnb, put in dates a month apart and filter 'entire place'. If I put in Jan 1 - 31 it says it has 180 places below 85k

Hey guys, I am living in Thailand since over a year now playing poker for a living.
I am using back to back Tourist Visas to stay here. But now after doing that so long I'm getting worried that they gonna deny entry.
Is there anyone staying here even longer in Thailand and got some friendly advice?
I am 26 years old and from Germany.

If someone could help me it would be so nice.
Talking in skype/discord would be great as well :P
Thanks in advance guys

-Get married
-Thai Visa Elite
-or keep doing the tourist visa runs 'til your luck runs out
-or start studying Thai properly

If you have specific questions, PM me. I've gotten entry denied 1,5 years ago for too many tourist visas / visa exempts, then I got a new passport from home country, new tourist visa, got married to my gf and now on marriage visa.

As for Thai Police, the incident is obviously horrific.

I've had a number of events with Thai police over the past years, incl having our car stopped and taken into questioning and testing by the local DEA (that was nerve wrecking even though I knew I was 100% clean)...my experience with Thai police has always been very pleasant and professional, nothing to complain. Maybe I've just been lucky, maybe they got bad reputation or maybe they give **** to people who give them ****. Who knows, so far only good experiences for me.

Use the laos-thai land border, then fly domestic from udon thani, land border doesn't deny entry as often as international airports. You can also do Ed visa in Thai, Japanese, Chinese, and English since you're German, about 50% cheaper than Thai Elite card

If you just get a new passport, is it effectively wiping the slate clean? Or do they still know you've had back to back tourist visas?

They have the ability to look up all your entries/exits but there's a chance they don't bother when presented with a fresh looking passport, so it helps a bit

have been in thailand 4 months and yet to be scammed untill went out in Bangkok twice last week and got change scammed at bars twice, both times receiving change for a 500 note instead of the 1k i paid for. first time i protested and had a shouting match across a noisy bar with a barmaid for about 15 mins before giving up and walking away there was no way i would be able to prove myself in a bar as big as that. second time in khoa san road where it was quieter but after telling the barmen he short changed me, he pointed to that cashier who pretended to show the 500 i paid with which tricked me into thinking they were right and i was in wrong, after searching internet i see this is quite a common scam, anyone other incurred similar or think of what else i could of done. to make myself not tilt i just wrote it off as tax for being in the country but shame theres so many scammer ****s in thailand

if i pay with a 500 or 1000 note (say i'm paying for one drink with the 500 or 1000 note), i'll show them the note as i'm handing it to them, i'll say 500 or 1000 baht and wait for them to acknowledge what i said with a nod or 'okay'.

i've never had a problem. don't just hand it over expecting them to be honest.

At cash machines you can withdraw 900, 1900, 2900, etc. and have change

In the Philippines they always respond "I received one thousand" or whatever you give. In Thailand not that much.

Stay in Nonthaburi don't go to cheap tourist scam areas like Khaosan Road it's ****hole anyways.

Never had this happen to me in the last 4 months here. A lot of clubs now hold up paddles that say "I HAVE RECEIVED 1000 BAHT" lol

Ask for the manager and request that they review CCTV. Police require them in all bars these days and there is always one trained on the cashier. When I was running a bar I fired a waitress for pulling this BS. It was plain as day on the camera.

I'm here since 2012 on back to back visas. In my current passport there are 11 tourist visas..never been questioned or asked anything, maybe I'm just lucky. As jspill mentioned, use land border when possible and don't look like a bum

Cheers. I haven't had to sweat visas past few years so not up to date. I didn't know one could extend a 30 day land crossing for another 30 days. So, just to confirm, I can hit Myanmar and get 30, then extend for a further 30 at immi? I haven't left in a couple of years, would this cause any issues at Mae Sai / immi?

I'm intending on going back on TV's for a while, hopefully a double should they be reinstated in the new year. Think it's probably best to just wait and see if they become available. It's a **** time of year to travel / do a visa run imo, and I'm frankly not too keen on the hassle if avoidable.

I have a new clean passport too FWIW. Is there anything IYO I need to be concerned about, or would you recommend going to Laos and getting a single now to avoid any problems?

Thanks again for your help

I also rinsed B2B visas and hops for a while, then found a 'stable' option for a few years, which I've now decided to skip for next year as I plan to travel / spend less time in Thailand. I just heard that things have tightened up, and know of a couple guys having being turned away at BK, so have been semi sweating.

Good to hear things are still pretty chill if you use land borders, which I plan to do.

Cheers for info.

haha, oh man...

in order to avoid unnecessary 'overnight' stay in Vientiane to hear the visa result (declined) in the next afternoon.

^ a gentle reminder...

too good : D

guess the reinstatement of doubles, and rinsing them seems unlikely : (

ty for the pic / info

Yes 30 plus 30, but it depends on the immigration officers you come across, Cambodia don't like it if you go in and out in the space of 1 day at their border and often deny entry. Don't know about Myanmar border. Laos has always been easiest. Flying to vientiane, coming in over land, then flying back to Udon Thani, is much quicker than Myanmar, since Yangon airport is way into the country and then no airport near Mae Sai.

Not sure what the current climate is when extending for 30 more days at bangkok immigration either, you might catch an officer on a bad day.

Best to stay out a week or so and carry what they consider 'proof of funds', which is 20k baht cash

Border run to Myanmar (close to Kanchanaburi) is awesome, super quick, no f given by officers. You even get a free Burmese beer at the duty free shop, I kid you not

I was just planning to drive to Mae Sai and walk across the bridge, come back on the same day.

If I can do this and extend for a further 30 then that's on the cards, but if I'm going to have hassles then I think just going to Laos for a single is better. I've done most of my runs to Laos and never had any issues.

I want to avoid spending a few days / week in Laos atm though, buy a bit of time and do that in the New Year.
