Hello 2+2 
Me and my friend are looking for people that want to travel&play poker. We are grinding online cash NL200-1K and we come from Slovenia.
At this moment weather in Slovenia is pretty cold so we figure it out that would be better to move somewhere with better climate and better conditions for grinding  . We were looking for some amazing apartmants/villas and we discovered that would be really good if we find someone with same plans and way of thinking.
At the moment we are looking for Thailand or Bali but we are open to most of destination in the world.
Villa usually cost 3-5k€ per month. If we are 5-6 people renting it .. the end cost would be around 600-800€ which would be awesome for the value we get from it.
For example we really like this one . But there are many other similiar and even better that this one .

Youll get an extra 30 days most likely. Photos and photocopys, but you can make it there. 1900b. Doesnt matter when you go. You can also go to PB tower suk71, there's an agent who can do it for you, for a prenium.

See this worries me, 30 days "most likely"? why not for sure? It is my first time ever doing it and this gets me even more on edge. Photos of what? Photocopy of a passport?

It does not matter when I go cuz they will just stamp me from the day my visa expires onward anyways right?

You can extend tourist visas for 30 days "for sure", its a really easy process. You just need passport, photos (of yourself), photocopies of passport/visa pages and 1900baht. I'm in Chiang Mai and they have small shops next to immigraton where you can get photocopies and photos done, Bangkok is probably the same.

You'll get 30 days for sure, totally standard, even if you put you want less days on the form I think you still get 30.
Enter the building go down to the lower floor and find the print shop for the copy of your passport and the thai visa page (won't cost much) they know what you need to copy. You also need a photo to stick on the form, you can get them done here also but I've always had mine done before going.

Go back upstairs to where you came from and take (a now) left into the room where the forms are filled out (ask at the desk for visa extension form) there are examples on the desk of what you need to fill out..name, DOB, passport valid to and from dates, port of entry, address etc. Sign and affix your photo with provided glue.

Then go through the door at other side of room to the next desks.. you will show them your passport and forms..they will give you a ticket ..walk around to the right where the waiting room is...wait for your number to come up and go to your section where you will hand over your passport and forms + 1900 baht (they will give you change later if you give them 2k baht) they will check the forms are complete, take a picture, then tell you to wait back in the room.

You probably have at least half an hour if not an hour or more...I tend to go grab a coffee or smoothie at this point (back at the level where you got the photocopies).

Eventually in the waiting room you will be called and 30 day extension in passport given (with any baht owed attached).

It can be 30 mins it can be 2 hours to wait..depends on the day...one thing to note is that they have a lunch break at midday and if you get caught up in this time it's +1hour to your wait time (has happened to me twice) getting there about 9.30-10am or 1.30pm is best as going too late you can hit the traffic and it's a nightmare to get back.

Going on the day is fine but there is a number of holidays that they get so you should check.

Thanks alot for this mate, will do excatly as you said. Is there only 1 immigration post in bkk? Online I have found only the one in Sathorn.
That has to be a joke about indians right? I am not indian, but seems like most thai (girls) dislike them.

Lol yeah, come to think of it I don't recall seeing many at the offices....I guess most don't fancy spending the 1900b for an extra 7 days

Actually it used to be true that Thai girls didn’t like Indians but now there are less and less westerners visiting this is no longer the case.

Totally disagree! A lot of the personal ads (dating as well as hookers) still read "no indian" etc. or "white guys only".

And that is on top of the general Thai view that "milky white skin" is perfect and dark skin is ugly. Watch a Thai movie, soap, any advertisement.
Or grab a Thai schoolbook. Where they teach fat and slim, pretty and ugly, the ugly guy shown is black! Enough said.

I also have a friend with Indian ancestors (grew up in the USA) who came to Thailand to teach English and left "due to the rampant racism" (his words not mine).

Is the dislike for Indians less than e.g. 10 years ago? Without actual stats or results from opinion polling that discussion is rather speculative but your statement of "this is no longer the case" could not be wider of the mark.

It's harder to get it in BKK than to get laid as an Indian. Haven't heard of anyone finding it.

But I hear in Phuket they sell it in lots of pharmacies.

No longer the case is probably a stretch but it has definitely softened over the last 10 years, in Bangkok at least. Probably has something to do with that the new generation not only has disposable cash but actually showers on a regular basis.

Can someone help an American get back on the ROW sites?? I plan on backpacking Europe and Thailand starting in February, but I wont have a permanent address or utilty bill because I will be using airbnb and hostels. DM me if you can help.

P.S. will pay a fair fee if the process is smooth

Thanks

After the 30 days visa extension you have to do a visa run correct? I have heard the cheapest and most convenient option is to get on a bus and go to Laos. Do you guys use certain agencies/people that books this for you and kind of take care of it or do it on your own? What would you recommend to a newbie?
Basically I want to stay in Laos just to get new tourist visa and nothing else, want to get back to bkk asap. In order to get a new 2 months visa what do I need? Fake plane ticket again right? I alse read that you need at least 20k baht as a proof of wealth.

Fwiw I think this thread is gold and you guys helped me so much. Cheers

There is companies organizing the whole trip with bus and everything, but unless you are broke or too scared to do it on your own, no point to use them.

Most efficient way is :

Nok Air flight to Udon Thani at 5.55am.
Van from airport to border (easy to find)
From the border straight to the Thai consulate (you have to be there before 11am).
Checkin hotel, sleep.
1pm next day, get your passport back at Thai consulate, take a van from there back to the border.
Take a taxi to Udon airport. Find someone to share it, they charge ~800b for the trip. Better to take one before crossing the bridge, that allows you to skip the bus on the bridge and you get shorter lines at immigration.
Fly back to Bangkok.

Total cost ~6000.

If you want to do the bus, you can save some money by going from BKK>Nong Khai>Vientiane, or you can have some convenience and just go straight through. On the way back you will save more money by going Vientiane>Nong Khai>BKK. Because its overnight busses you only have to spend 1 night in Vientiane (although 2 nights on a bus which sucks).

If you fly direct to Vientiane you will have to spend 2 nights there I think, because afaik theres no early morning flights (if there are they're probably bull**** expensive). Can fly to Udon Thani as detailed above though if you want to fly and get it done quickly.

They don't ask for flight ticket at Laos consulate, and since you've only been in Thailand 2 months lifetime you wouldn't get asked on the way back for a flight ticket or the 20k cash. Those things start being needed once you go over 6 months per year. Only need your passport, picture, application fee.

The overnight train is another option if you don't mind the 11 hour journey on it (have bunks for sleeping)...leaving at 8pm from Hua Luamphong station arrives Nong Khai at about 7am ...take one of the the waiting tuk tuks to the border....you could then go straight to the consulate. (Transport outside border).

Return train would be the next day leaving at approx 7pm.
Have taken the overnight train there once before and it's fine (I stayed in Laos for a few days though). Train fare is about 900-1k baht each way
