If you have to spend 10 days a year on various visa trips & hanging out in immigration offices or go to a language learning school when you don't really have an interest in learning a new language that is some serious lost opportunity cost when you could have been working on your business and be making money instead. Gotta have a bit more respect for the value of your own time than that.
Who's doing that? At Pro language asoke you don't need to attend classes. There's an agent in sukhumvit who handles extensions, so no need to go to immigration. When flying outside Thailand people make it into a holiday. I'd go crazy if I didn't get out and see other countries from time to time.

Not giving up 30% of my income to taxes when it's not clear if I need to or not, is my idea of having respect for the value of my time. I could just put that into savings in the unlikely event some day I need to pay it.

No one is implying that you should take all your income through them and pay 30% tax on all of it. Just enough to get on their books and establish a tax residency in Thailand. Rest you will take through a business entity.

DTAC : if you do have a contract with a monthly plan, yes, but you need to activate it before leaving Thailand.

If you just use prepaid cards, no

Validity? Is that regular topup?

I have AIS prepaid but internet banking is connected to that so kind of important it works. Have to go to branch to change mobile for sms verification but probably end up doing that just to be sure. Any other with AIS using it outside of thailand?

No topup required. Just have a friend transfer validity. That way you can keep your number active for online bank use without needing to pay anything.

*140*2*recipient’s number*a number of days to be transferred#

How much would this studio be monthly in Koh Samui if I look for the place when I get there? It's near Lamai beach. https://www.flipkey.com/lamai-beach-...ntals/p959465/

Alright cool, they have it advertised around 14k on there.

Was just looking over the visa rules for UK and if I get myself a 60 day Single entry TV for £25, I don't need to have onward travel or show them any cash requirements. Is this correct?

From that page it looks like it is only for the free 30 day on arrival were you have to meet the cash and onward travel requirement.

In normal circumstances on your first few trips you won't be asked, they're only asked for if you've stayed for years and look like you might be working illegally

Lately there seems to be an abnormal no. of people getting hassled though

Never a clear yes/no answer with anything to do with thailand visas

I see, where exactly are they getting hassled?

Passport control when you land

No issues if you've spent 0-6 months per year in Thailand in the last year though

Have people been deported straight back or is it more to scare, perhaps they're looking for a small bribe?

Yes. Sometimes to home country, sometimes you can choose

Maybe variance but 3 poker players this year so far, none had the 20k cash requirement

Can't bribe airport immigration, it's not like police

You'd think once they give you the tourist visa, you'd be good to go.

I'm happy that a place like that in Koh Samui is much more affordable than I initially thought, those sites over charge big time.

Thought I read that somewhere too, not sure if they have reverted back.

I had to pay for mine at Laos about a month ago from memory, so I'm pretty sure they aren't free anymore.

Yeah exactly it's not like it's anything significant lol. I mean even if they get pulled up at airport can't they just use the atm?
