PS: If you fancy some wacko driving challenges head for laos. It was like a video game with unlit, unlined roads with people going the wrong direction, cars flying in and out, nobody looking and unlit motorbikes.

LOL I remember last year getting super pissed off the 1st day when i was convinced everyone was trying to kill me by throwing buckets of water in my face whilst driving a MB. The 2nd day i just got into it, bought 3 mega super soakers and had the gf on the back of the motorbike doing highpowered drive by soakings of the water throwers.

When that got boring, we hung out with a bunch of drunk Thais on the beach road and dbl teamed every open air vehicle or pedestrian with the water dousing then the super powdering.

Much fun was had.

Amusingly, the farangs were going nutzso with the supersoakers on Bangla RD at night in the middle of a thunderstorm.

Plenty of Thais don't like Songkran either (at least in its current form). You know, one of those things that was really fun when you were a kid, but less so once you get old. Similarly, most farang I know thought it was great the first or second time around, but many of them just grew tired of it.

i will play for a bit in the morning but i dont get the soaking wet all day thing. ok, you wet me. seems kind of redundant. it is fun to see the Thai kids happy and enjoying themselves with their new super soaker 8000's.

OK. I Like songran a little less today. Last night went out with the boys in Patong and got thoroughly soaked with much fun and what not but I'm pretty sure I got hit a few too may times with dirty water cus i've got the super shttts today.

Positives:
-Young kids clealry having an awesome time laying some serious water on the tourists.
-Mega waterfights with 50 bargirls who are clearly enjoying themselves not having to be dolled up and playing their normal role.
-Said bargirls with wet T-shirts
-Said bargirls using ICE water in their guns
-95% seemingly enjoying themselves.

Negatives:
-Dbag farangs shooting me in the face while I'm driving my motorbike
-Thais shooting me in the face while I'm driving my motorbike
-Arsehole farang who shot me in the face when I was on my telephone at a restaurant (he was rewarded by a smile then 1 knee to the nutz and 2 to the ribs)
-Dirty water usage (resulting in explosive diareeah
-Dumbarse angry tourists looking for fights (we saw an African pwn an Arab dude with like 5 hits outside a disco)
-Police randomly confiscating water guns from tourists as Thais shoot everyone in sight.

Meh, songkran kinda sucks at night because clubs have AC and I don't like going to bars dripping wet. In the day time it's a lot of fun. Maybe because it's my first time or because I'm hungover and have the brain of a 3yr old. I just like splashing cute thai girls on bikes and having them smile at me. Also, this just wouldn't fly in the west. Too many people would get angry and fight. I love how you can splash or be splashed and still everyone's happy.
