Whats the deal with all the Thai ladyboys? They never tell they are men? I mean if the guy they are flirting with are straight they would accomplish nothing but an awkward moment for both if it gets that far. I've read that at least a few farangs are killed every year by a ladyboy who gets incredibly insulted when the dude finds out she's a he.

My friend just told me that if someone wants to get a tattoo thai-style by monks(sak yant) then there is a certain tattoo you need to have in order to get others(he was talking about the angelina jolie one).

Is that true or false? Does anyone have some information about that?

There are a ton of rules that traditionally come with sak yaht, usually depending on the monk giving them, but these days they are mostly just done for fashion and a ton on foreigners get them done just because they look cool.

I have never heard of such a rule as having to have a particular one first. There are definate designs that are more popular, but I have seen plenty of thais with just one or two unique sak yaht, but I wouldnt be too suprised if there is someone who has rules that are unique, and covers this.

There is no such thing as poll tax in the UK.

It was abolished in 1993 which would be around 15 years before you began paying tax.

Its not really a slip of the tongue / keyboard. You have never paid a poll tax in your life

The figure of £120 per month for council seems very high. Council tax is split between all occupants of the house and a single occupant gets a 25% discount. So you are either the sole renter of a £120,000 home or you are sharing a house worth more than £320,000 with no more than 2 others.

I would have thought that £120 was not levied on you but was shared between 2-4 people, thus reducing that figure to something between £30 - £60

There is a big difference.

A poll tax is levied on an individual where as council tax is levied equally on all eligible tax payers living within a household.

I just added a breakdown of costs to the post.

Basically you are way over exaggerating when you come up with a figure of £120 for your council tax, which makes me think your mom used to handle that kind of thing... being as you don't know the name of the tax you are paying and have no idea of what it costs.. sounds like you live with your parents in the UK to me
