If true, that sounds insane! Is anybody getting anything like that on a regular basis? 4 almost sounds like too much? All for under $20?

I can see myself waking up. Eating. Going to the gym. Following that up with a 4 girl one-two hour massage. Playing 8 hours of poker. Going out after. Sleep. Repeat the cycle. Do you guys have similar schedules? Anybody gotten one of these?

When I 1st cam to Thailand I would get like 2 masages/wk.

You can limit any negative effects by simply directing them not to do portions of the normal schedule.

For instance, I always tell them at the start, I don't wnat any of the contortions (Chiropractors they are NOT) and NO squeezing of the femoral or shoulder arteries.

Also, you can ask them to adjust the strength/depth of the deep tissue massage part.

No it doesn't include airfare, I just want to drink copius amounts of alcohol, watch football, drink, get sun burn (I have no choice), drink, see another country and drink some more!

your thinking is up the right alley except if your going to do the 4 handed it should be oil imo. if anyone in thailand has not yet got a 4 handed i recommend you get that taken care of asap.

far as a place as low cost as the one you mentioned there is one soi in bkk we call it soi nuad(massage) by the onnut bts station where its 100 baht for an hour thai or foot massage, oil is more but dont go there for extras as no have, straight up massage.


not if you say ow bao bao (want soft) sabai sabai (relax, relax) my guess is that i go to massage more than any 2p2er here minus the one guy who got a 4 hour foot massage lol? i dont even know if thats true but i heard it once before. when i first came here i had pain in my leg from an old football injury which has now gone away, i seriously think the ladies massaged it out of me=)

i dont know about yall but i love massage mak mak. its a favorite past time of Team Potheads to blaze up and go massage whether it be foot rub, degen, thai or ballin oil. i probably go massage at least 3 days a week sometimes more and even if its thai i just tell them soft and am not sore after. if a girl starts sticking her elbow in my back ill be quick to tell her to ease it up.

personally i got lucky as theres a massage place on the 1st floor of my condo and theres one girl there who massages real good and knows how i like it. so basically at random times i stumble down there and get a thai or foot rub. its the bomb when they put i think its tiger balm while doing the nuad tao. in conclusion massage is one of those comforts of thailand that is super cheap compared to a $100+ massage you would get in america.

so treat yourself dont cheat yourself.

best massages are the 8hr ones you sleep at after you get home at 10am. same same karaoke!

when i was visiting BKK, we'd go out for massage about 5 days a week, a month at a time. I didn't really notice that it was causing problems, but everyone told me it would, in the long run.

maybe if you get 2 hour thai massage everyday and tell them keng reng(kind of how it sounds phonetically meaning hard) and have them crack your back everytime i could see some problem down the line. but if you switch it up meaning foot than oil than thai-->repeat. itd be fine imo.

im suprised we havent discussed massage more for the most part as its a big component of comfort that thailand offers. for a good massage in bkk i like to go to this place on sukhumvit soi 18 which is right next to the Rembrandt hotel. its at the end of a bunch of hello welcome spots, is not a hello welcome spot, and mainly caters to japanese customers meaning the quality will be better. note this is for straight up massage.

i dont remember the name but the signs are written in japanese, there is a koi fish pond with a little walkway in the middle of it that you walk on to get to the entrance so u cant miss it. they have private rooms that fit between 1-5 people if you go there with friends to get a thai massage, and a legit massage table if you do the oils.

ty for the responses regarding the visa guys. i have one more question as some ppl were talking about visa runs. my main issue is: can you stay in Thailand for >12 months doing this?

Ideally, I'd like to spend a year there, which is why the CMU visa is great albeit being 30k baht.

I'm rly kinda confused about visa runs and all that, was under the impression you can't stay there more than ~ 5/6 months w/visa runs.

i told them to book one when they get up there - does anyone have an idea of prices as this is 3k baht per person. what is the going rate for something that includes the village trek, elephant ride, bamboo rafting and all that other bull****. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I did something similar about 4 years ago but do not remember prices or if there is something better.

Will also take some input on other activities/ tours to do. Is doi suthep worth the visit? Anything else a must do up there?

I haven't done the Karen tribe thing. Yeah, that stuff used to be real, but today, these people get paid by the govt to put those rings on and keep them on. It's a high traffic human zoo. Anyway, you should expect to pay around 2K baht. As you know there are tour resellers everywhere in the city, and on top of what they quote you, they can discount a little bit as well.

I think Doi Suthep is a must. That said, last I was there in January, they were renovating it, so it was a lot of scaffolding around the main statue. Still, sort of interesting and nice little view over the city. Cool windy road to get there also...

I did a day long "trek" that included 2 visits to "authentic" or w/e villages, bamboo raft, elephant ride, a like a 45min ish nature walk to a waterfall where u could swim.

villages were total BS, they just take you to small villages where they try to sell you the same stuff that they sell in the night bazaar.

elepant ride was cool, bamboo raft was cool. Mine served you lunch which was actually pretty good curry with chicken iirc.

only cost like 1k though so its not a bad deal, do it if you have extra time but its not a must imo. Someone told me about a longer tour/trek that went to actual native(or w/e) villages and not some people that pretend for tourists.

i agree that the villages are BS but my family thinks it's a must do - so you all think that we can get it for about 2k for all the same stuff?

I'm not a gold member on any alliance so I dont get the free extra 20kG which which would be sweet.
