Someone said NETELLER lock your account if you login from Thai; does this mean it's fine to deposit at a poker site using NETELLER, as this doesn't actually involve logging onto the NETELLER site? i.e. it's just www.neteller.com that's the problem in Thai??

If living out there for a few months, should I take my mobile phone from home and expect to insert a pay-as-you-go sim or is it easy to buy a cheap (b&w?) handset out there I can chuck around and get sand in?

Alright I need to know about how people have dealt with moving their stuff to Thailand with the outrageous customs duty. I looked online and duty seems to be around 100% all up!?!??! Look at these examples!

Company “A” imports $200 worth of goods into Thailand.

Blah blah blah, they owe $207 in fees for $407 total
I want to bring all my gadgets over if possible - PS3, 360, Wii, blu-rays, Dell 30", and mayyyybe desktop computer not sure about that O_o. How do I get these in the country without paying duty? If I just take them as extra luggage on my flight will I be fine? If I get slapped with $5k duty I'll probably cry at the airport lol.

You can login in Thailand without VPN, thats no problem. Just tell Neteller you are in Thailand and they will fix it for you. Maybe you need to talk (livechat) a few times with them, cause not every employee seems to know about it.

In our house we all did this within 5 minutes.

Chiang Mai Immigration
71 Moo 3, Airport Road, Suthep, (053) 201 755-6, tmchingmai@hotmail.com

in phuket you need:

-passport
-copy of passport
-copy of visa
-copy of departure card
-copy of the page in your passport showing the latest stamp
-one picture
-1900 baht

should be around the same there

also FYI you don't need to wait until your 60 days nearing their end. you can go get the extension anytime after you enter.

i wouldn't go tomorrow (tuesday) though as today was a holiday. might be more people than usual (dunno how crowded it is there though)

and 12-1pm is usually lunch so go before or after that

have fun

My fiances parents arrives to Phuket from Sweden one week from now, and I would like to make there trip here memorable.

Would appreciate if you guys could give som tips about:

3 best beaches ( I have lived in Phuket but that was some years ago and I sadly did not even visit all beaches then) Have read about Freedom beach, how is it?

3 best restaurants

3 best activities for 55 plus Swedish couple

What boat trip would you recommend for 1 timers in Phuket?

Also, if we want to rent a car, how much per week and where would you recommend renting?

Possible to rent bicycles by the way?

Thanks!

So, I need to get 600.000 baht in Thailand the cheapest way. Anybody know a better way than using the ATM 30 times?

The costs of this option (ATM fees + my bank's fees at home) would be 7.500 Baht or 1.25%. So I'd like to get that down to like 3000 baht or something. Additional info: I live in Lao, so I don't have a thai address (can I get a thai bank account anyway?).

you can open an account at kasikorn bank. they ask for an address but they don't check if you actually live there so use a friend's or something

I think wiring money to that account will take the juice to way under 1%

edit: kasikorn takes a flat fee between 200 and 500 baht + 0.25% for receiving a wire transfer&doing foreign exchange. 500 baht of 600k is under 0.1% so on kasikorn side the total juice should be under 0.35%. there might be a fee at your home bank for sending money abroad

#1 Nai Harn Beach
#2 Kata Beach/ Kata Noi Beach
#3 Laem Singh (It's the cape between Kamala and Surin beaches)

Laem Singh does require a 100m descent (via stairs) to get down to. So if they have physical issues, maybe best leave that one alone)

Definitely do a 1 day (leave hot at 7AM get back 6PM) Pi Pi Island Boat Trip.

Quote:

Best place I know is on Patak Rd in Kata/Karon.
They do cars daily at around 1200KTHB/day.
I imagine you could work a discount for a week + rental
I reccomend them specifically because I and none of my friends have ever had any "scam" or other problems with them.

I can get the phone number/address for you in next few days if you are interested.

Yes. Not sure where but I know they exist.
If they are staying at a big resort, the staff should be able to get that taken care of for them.
