Ya anyone is welcome to add to the Sticky, just send it to me and I will put it in. I haven't been back to Thailand since I made it, so I haven't had anything to add.

I am a US citizen and Im thinking about spending 1+ years living in thailand. I know I still have to pay taxes to the US government but would I be eligible for the 80K foreign earned income credit? Is that just for money you earned from a foreign job or would my online play while out of the country be eligible? I am not self employed I run an S-corp for my poker earnings does that matter? would I have to start an S-corp equivelant in thailand? Does it matter what type of visa you get to get the tax credit? What if I went to 2 countries say 6 months in thailand 6 months in phillipines would that be any different than 1 full year in either one?

talk to your accountant, it's doubtful any of us knows the subtleties, i'm not trying to be a dick here, but this isn't a forum i'd be asking for tax advice. that being said, here's what i know: i've got an accountant i've known for years outside of business, who recently told me he could file me so i'm eligible for the credit, and i'll be having him do my taxes from now on. (we were friends before poker, and now he does a lot of our old friend's poker taxes so he's knowledgable) tax accountants in general seem to know about as much about it as the guy at the carnival really knows about your age. they're all just guessing, it seems.

Sup guys!?

I am a Swede that lives in Pattaya right now, am thinking of moving to Phuket later tho.

I have a licence to instruct Krav Maga, which is an Israelian combat system. The system is all about defending yourselfe against any kind of attack. Meaning, against several opponents, knife attacs, gun threats etc.

I have among others been in Israel two times and trained at the Wingate training center. This system is being trained by the military and police forces in Israel and USA among many places. There are no rules in the system, meaning everything goes since it is streetfighting and not a sport. Big difference to MMA and other sports therefore.

I have also trained Muy Thai, MMA and boxing.

I am offering any 2plus2 member free fighting coaching against poker coaching. Depending on how good you are at poker I am offcourse willing to give more hours of my coaching against 1 hour of poker coaching.

Side note,: I have met the creator of the Krav Maga system in Israel which is quite speciell. Imi Lichtenfield was his name, he is now passed away. Imis head instructor Eyal Yanilov has also helped develope the system, and he was my head coach. Eyal is the former self deffence inscructor to special forces in Israel.

PM me if intrested, also please contact me if intrested in Phuket since I may soon move there.

Cheers!

thnx ratang I am currently seeking the advice of a tax accountant, but as u said they dont always know what they are talking about. I was hoping to get some info from anyone who has filed from overseas and has been through the experience. That way when I talk to an accountant I might be able to get a read on if he knows whats up or not.

What would be the best way to have an mp3 player sent to me from the US without having to pay duty or minimizing the duty paid? Take it out of the original package? Label it as something else?

Hey guys,
I just arrived in BKK this week with gf (i know). I am looking to go down to the islands- have been down there with OTL 3 years ago but am looking to grind now. Just have a few questions.

I know that aumpai has the best int on samui but it is booked up through march. Will a cat card work there with no discons? I 16 table sit n go's (i know)

How much for a cat card? how much per month? Where do I get one? I know there are the two models so would i have to buy the non bangkok model once i am down there?

Would consider phuket as well- any one bed/studio with stable int.? Not looking to spend a ton - maybe in the 15k - 20 k range all included. Would this be monthly or do i have to sign three months or more?

if i have to just fly down and check it out are there any cheap guesthouses with int you recommend on either island?

thank you all for your help

im sitting in the MBK right now, using gprs happy card. i have been at kao san road the last 3 days and checked out the second room in a row today. can anyone help me getting something more comfortable for a low budget? i will go to lower sukhumvit right now to find a guesthouse/hotel (chipchip).

i would be very happy to get in *quick* contact with some 2p2 guys. if not, i will go to the airport and fly to phuket the next 1-3 days. feeling a bit lost in bkk. though the japanese food was the first and very nice food experience for chipchip 318 baht

feel free to pm me!

how do people just come out the woodworks asking thailand questions lol, these threads are so big!!!

anyways, last time i was in chiang mai i went to the driving range and they didn't have any left handed clubs. i wasn't a big golfer at the time so i never tried the course(s?) nor looked where i could buy clubs since i wasn't staying that long. anyone know for sure of a place that sells left handed golf clubs? i'd rather not bring a set or have to buy one in bkk (though that would be fine).

so no one answered...

the recommended "lower sukhumvit" area mentioned in the "thailand travel guide" is a big ugly red light district with at least 50% ladyboys, trying to pickpocket you or worse. the recommended "dream hotel" has its cheapest room at 3500 baht (75 euro/110 dollars). the cheapest hotel "honey inn" (1000 baht) has big bugs in their rooms. i guess the same they are selling deepfried on the streets!

once again im escaping as quick as possible and heading to the airport in one hour.

if please anyone can help me getting on a better trip in phuket!?

Heading to Thailand on Friday. Though I know gambling is illegal, is there any where to play live poker?

Had a quick search on the internet but I'm not sure what is reputable

Is this the first time you've heard of Bangkok? If you watched TV or read a book or the internet any time since the Vietnam war you should have really known to expect this.

tbh, I think he has the right to feel annoyed about some people recommending that ****hole as a good area to live.

Anyway, what's Silom like? Is there like a nice area with a park suitable for jogging, and plenty of restaurants to choose from after a workout? Or would Lumpini be better for something like that?
