You can buy Dewar's White Label in that price range and 750ml of Johnny Red Label is 7xx baht. 100 Pipers isn't actually that bad either and that costs 490 baht for a liter I think. Do people actually drink Mekong or Samsong regularly?

yeh I'm not talking about samsong or mehkong, drinking that on a night out would be disasterous. Even in probably the best club in chiang mai you can get a bottle of red label for 750ish baht. 100 pipers is around 400-500 everywhere

haha true, but I was kinda trying to compare it with Phuket where pretty much all of the decent clubs are full of working girls. Aside from club lime and probably Sound (not been but I've heard not many hookers there?) So if you go out and meet a girl then you will probably have to pay something afterwords.

In CM you can just basically avoid 1 street (loi kroh), spicy and bubble and you will most likely see 0 working girls on a night out. And those 3 places are terrible imo and not worth going

I don't think there's any chance you would have to pay any of the cute girls hanging out in the JJ Market area. Best street ever

For the more busto crowd, Hong Thong (+ Coke) = win imo lol. A box of 12 350ml bottles for 1k baht from Tesco Lotus. Almost lasted me the whole 2,5 days of my previous visa run!

On a more serious note, it really depends how often you are planning to go out. I definitely spend more than 200 EUR a month on drinks but I'd say ~1500 THB is the average me and my friends usually spend on a night out (most likely triple that in BKK though), drinking Red Label, Jack Daniels or whatever we want.

Without dinner I spend about 1500-2500 on nights out in BKK but I usually dont go to after hours places anymore. My busto English teacher friend drinks Hong Thong (aka Hong nam) and says it isn't so bad.

+1, need a decent place in Patong (or nearby) for 3 ppl for ~10 days starting from 27th Dec. My regular accommodation in Patong is fully booked. I'm with busto non-poker friends, though.. so <1k baht/night would be brilliant.

Any recommendations?

Yeah, that's probably the case. Anything decent within walking distance (and I mean like 3 minutes) from Bangla road <2000 baht/night that's not a sh*tty hostel?

I really need to book something asap. What have you crazy finns been planning for the nye anyway? 3 neighbours of yours are looking for some action.

What do you do for internet service while traveling around the country?

Is there a decent wireless setup to use with a laptop? Or do I need to just go to internet cafes and hotels with internet? Is this stuff any good? http://edgethailand.com/ http://www.tothotspot.com/en/

Also is there any problem with hotels filling up during the peak times? February? Phuket? Can I get by without reservations?

nah Thailand is massively over saturated with places to stay, i seem to remember this time last year Phuket was only at about 30% occupancy.

Try the Yorkshire Inn in soi sansabai.

http://www.yorkshireinn.com/index.html

Might be over 2k during Xmas/NYE period, but only about 1k baht normally. It's a nice place and literally across the street from Bangla Road.

Me and EM2 brought some Korean girls to Karafun a while back but they were so drunk they fell asleep on the table. I wanna find out where hot Korean girls go on vacation.

If you find a few seconds of a youtube clip that you'd like as your avatar I'd be happy to make on for you.

Summer Breeze on Sansabai is my choice. <2k, close to bangla, decent food, decent internet, fun staff. I live here now and I still go by all the time to chat with the staff or have a meal.

Guys, can anyone recommend a gym in Bangkok, close as possible to Sukhumvit 26 (or within easy BTS ride), where I can pay for each visit, rather then a monthly fee?
