In case someone wants to "hone his skills at Connect 4" you can try at www.flyordie.com .

There is one girl who keeps winning lady drinks from me day after day and decided to put and end to it. I'm discovering this game is far from being trivial and against skilled players can become very tricky.

I can't really speak for Thailand, but I live in China with an Iphone i bought in the USA, and It works with the ATT plan but is very expensive.

I Jailbroke my phone (IMO makes the Iphone 100 times better) and, bought a China mobil sim card and put money on the card to make calls, I also have a code i dail to call the States for pretty cheap from china.

I can only assume Thailand has there own type of sim card you can buy from a store and use while there after jailbreaking the phone.

yes, i have at&t network with said iPhone. traveled there in August 2009

it costs $6 per month to activate international calling, and cost something like $1.75 per minute.

deactivate your data roaming as well, just connect to wifi when available

if you plan on being there over a couple weeks, i suggest buying a local phone with local minutes (30 to 50 USD max)

Also check out Thailand Threads for everything else.

Is your phone unlocked? If so, then you can just buy a sim card and put it in, should work fine. If it is not unlocked then you can either get it unlocked in Thailand and get a new sim card, or talk to your service provider about whether they have international roaming, probably really expensive though.

Once you go back home just take out the Thailand sim card and put back in your old one - all set. I think...

I use mine here, just get it unlocked and put a 12call network sim card in. they have good rates for their mobile internet and it's fast

don't worry too much about the shots, plenty of people in Thailand don't have them, you'd have to run super bad to catch anything especially since you'll only be there for a short time.

with regards to going out just post in the chatter thread when you get into town and there will always be someone going out

Sweet I'll roll the dice with the hep I guess :] Thanks for the response.

Is the dream hotel worth it? briefly looking at their site for like $100/night I could get a suite at a 5 star place? Sounds legit are there any other places I should be checking out? (dream was the only name I remember from browsing this thread time to time)

Seems like 5* hotels on priceline are available for $50-$60 bucks a night. What's so great about the dream? Looks like a w.

Screw that - I went there for 2.5 weeks which at that time was by far the longest vacation I'd ever taken. It flew by and I hated that I had to get back to work so soon. If you don't have school or work to get back to I'd plan on staying at least a month. If you don't like it you can always get your ticket changed and go back home earlier, but that's not likely. More likely you'll want to stay longer. Take a trip up North, visit a couple of islands down South, no need to rush!

Okay I will bump it up to 2.5 weeks

But I can't do any more right now! Gotta fit this in between Thanksgiving and the Dec holidays. I could go back anytime after that if I want

Dream is in an excellent location. They also have a great bar right inside the hotel and a club on top of their annex hotel next door. Then you don't need to walk far at all to be at tons of other great nightlife spots. You are right in the heart of the action.

With Bangkok traffic you really want to be where the stuff you want to do is located, and if you are like most foreigners who come through Bangkok, Soi 15 is about as perfect as it gets.

Can't go wrong with Dream imo
