seriously just b/c you didn't like it doesn't mean it sucked, who knows what you were expecting or what other people are expecting. or maybe it was just a bad month, who knows? i know i'm being really nitty right now, but jesus christ everytime i check this thread and the fmp comes up there's the same people who, for some reason, feel the need to say it sucked. let people enjoy their trip and figure out what they like for themselves...

just to confirm that you are not on TOT but TT&T? also TT&T has couple of options. the indy package sucks, if you have that then go to their office and upgrade to premier. 2/1M connection should cost 1090B/month

that might be your biggest problem

also there is a TT&T thread on thaivisa saying they have some routing problems that affect foreign sites. that started about one month ago also. not sure if it has been fixed yet

the last month has not been perfect for tt&t adsl. before that (when i wrote about it in here) it had worked for almost a year with no problems for me/us

in the last month i have had to use my backup connection (CDMA) on 2-3 nights on party when i got too much packet loss with tt&t. the last couple of weeks have been fine though so if your problem is happening now i dont know what to say

i just pinged stars and party for 15 minutes and did not get any packet loss. also stars network status is 100% to each location.

i would check that tt&t package type first. if you have premier and it shows 0% 24/7(hard to believe) then it is a problem.

if you are staying here longer get CDMA as backup
I think i got TTT 2/1:

Upload speed is usually 0.3 Mb/s.

On Network Status on pokerstars I get over 100 lost packages in under 5 minutes.. and Bad(0%) on all location except Australia(poor(56%). I have tried on another Pc too, I guess I have to buy CDMA or move to another place..

you still didnt answer if you have the indy package or premier

try using a proxy or VPN like gigi suggested

also try another site like ftp/stars/ipoker at the same time when you have problems on stars

i have TT&T premier 2/1M in rawai

I live in an area where it's not possible to get TT&T so I was forced to try something else.
My neighbour recommended CAT telecom and I have not be disappointed.
You could give it a try also.

Do I have to actually fly to Malaysia and back to do a visa run? My visa expired yesterday,a nd thats what I did previously, but there is no same-day round trip options today without having to pay around $10,000 THB. Can I get a stamp or something in Thailand that would be equal to a visa run?

How would one go about setting something like that up?

way to plan ahead

yes you have to actually leave the country

$10000 baht?

well what did you expect? if you book well in advance you can get a kuala lumpur trip for around 2500 baht, it will be multiple of that if you book same day...

do you have a visa or are you going just to get a 30 day visa exempt stamp?

I have a double entry visa

is 20 minutes enough time between flights, since I don't bring any bags (international return. or do I need to get a stamp in the other country

what is the enter before date in your visa (just to be sure )

how would you think 20mins works at the airport ?

you have to go through immigration (like in thailand) if you go to kuala lumpur and then check-in again (if you didnt do it online) and go through security. you need 1-1.5 hours

should I just overstay my visa for 18 days until I go to Macau? It would be cheaper if the fine was 500thb/day. really dont want to get blacklisted though
Ask us about Thailand! Quote

i wont recommend overstaying even if some people do that and brag about it so i hope you know the risks if you get caught. if you dont get caught you will be fine just paying for the overstay

before you plan your visaruns check the "enter before" date on the visa. if that has passed then the visa has expired and it doesnt matter how many entries you did not use yet

We actually had the indy package from TTT here, but we are trying to upgrade it to 10/10 or something now.. I'm using another modem(Belkin) now and the network stautus on pokerstars is much better(Very good(100%) except IP address from UK(Pokerstars is in UK too and i cannot log in to pokerstars ). Why is there a problem with UK IP address only?

The Landlord told me that CDMA(CCU-650) is not working properly in Kata neither, but i will try his as back-up anyway..

You NEED to get PREMIER level for TTT.

Indy package is oversold and well under the advertised speeds because the glut of users are on the indy (cheap) level of interwebz.

Upgrade to the lowest premier level and you will see a HUDGE difference.

2/1M is enough if you got the premier package

you cant even get 10/10 with adsl. i think adsl max outs at 8mbit and you wont see big difference in latency afaik, you can just download faster

I overstayed by 14 days, then again by 4 days this time. There were no issues at any point. I got my visa yesterday, and they didn't mention it there at all. You'd be fine overstaying

That's great, it's so important to have a back up ofc will have to get an iphone 3g now. Do you have a special sim card (think miriam did something like this?) or are you just using it to connect to the true signals you find all over bkk?

oh and this

I haven't tried the other networks but I would assume the same if it's routing problems.

Hi all
Which vpn do you use. I live in Koh Pha Ngan and i use Maxnet (indy) , i can not connect whit Pokerstars or Skype.
My connection was good but since 1 month it realy s@cks

yeah...

you are fine if you dont get caught before you get to the immigration at the airport.

if you are living in thailand why not just book tickets in advance? you get 60 day stamp when you arrive. count 30 days from that date with extension and book flights for that day

[x] solved
