One shop was on 3rd floor and on the right side (if you enter building through main entrance). This was 3-4 months ago.
I tried to ask around in various shops but they just looked at me like I came from Mars when I showed them the spec and said 'no have Thailand'. So just walk around and you will see who stocks the big monitors

Depending on the times the games are airing in Thailand. Bang La in the day would have many places to watch it but would suck at night i would think. Some bars on Soi Sansabai (opposite Bang La) have little bars that will show sports in the evenings. Then there is a bar in Karon Called Angus O'tooles that have a couple big screen projections.

Oh and if you were talking about NFL football, I don't remember any places that was airing it. I got through the season streaming the games.

I have seen the workers at the ports and they are not too carefull with the freight...

I have a couple of friends going to Bkk next week, I have adviced them to book a room at the Grand President for a few nights, other better sugestions?

Also they are total Thai noobs, so I told them to go to Nana Plaza, Soi Cowboy and a must visit to Club Eden. Am I missing anything? They both have yellow fever btw.

I dunno how many guys still in Bkk, but I know they are up for going out, so maybe some of you guys could show them the real Bkk? I told them not to go near Koh San Road.

Do I need to preep these youngster more before I send them out of Europe?

If you get UBC they just picked up a new channel that guarantees 10 NFL games a week in the season. I don't really know much more info than that since I don't get UBC nor waste my time with TV here at all. I got through the season last year by streaming and downloading the torrents the day after while I tried to restrain myself from looking at the scores in the meantime.

I had Phuket cable, the only sports channels they had were Supersports Africa. There was soccer but I think most of what they showed were replays. Cricket and Rugby is on almost everyday. I would of went with a dish but my apartment was facing the wrong way. I heard True is good for sports.

There is a lot of soccer on TV. If you get UBC (cable) there are 4 or 5 channels devoted to this. I would guess there are a lot of premiership games, though I don't know much about the leagues.

Teh True Sports channels have nearly all the premiership games on, The Thai's love it over here.

edit: maybe 'nearly all' is an exaggeration. I don't know the % of games they show but it seems a lot.

Some more quick questions..

Whats the best way to do banking in Thailand, should I open an account there, or should I just use my VISA linked to my home bank account which is already hooked up to my poker site and accept the ATM charges?

What are the ATM charges typically?

had another but it's slipped my mind, will prob ask another Question later

yes no fees from the thai end. i dont know about the rest of the europe but finnish banks charge 2 euros + 2.5%(+****ty exchange rate) for every transaction so even if you take the max out the juice from finnish side is over 3%

for me the best thing has been wiring money to my kasikorn(green bank) account here. only needed passport and an address in thailand to open the account. and i was only on a tourist visa.

wiring about 2000 euros gives me well under 1% in total fees

super easy atleast with my bank. i dont see any reason it wouldnt be easy with your bank

you only need swift code and account number. both you should have gotten when you made the account. if not just call the bank and get them. remember that thai banks dont use IBAN so dont try to find it.

and remember to send the money in pounds(in your case) since the british bank would take a lot more in exchange fees than kasikorn will

i get charged 6 euros by my finnish bank and kasikorn takes 0.25% + some flat fee from 200-500baht(i think closer to 200).

like i said if you send around 2000 euros total fees are under 1% and it only takes 2 business days (sometimes 3 when you run bad) to get the money
