you think she will hit you for giving money to you?

500 to 1000 baht is nothing for a tourist/expat here but it is alot of money for most locals

the only mistake i can think of is that you say something incredebly stupid when you give her the money

Thinking about touring Thailand on a motorcycle w/ a huge backpack is the worse idea you've ever had. Very high probability you will get in a serious accident and a) die or b) wish you had.

Fly to BKK and travel around the country on planes, trains, & busses like all the other farang & rent scooters to tour around Samui & such when you get there.

And yes, you absolutely need a giganormous backpack that can hold a months worth of clothes & assorted #$@*, otherwise how can you consider yourself a backpacker? Take everything that you might possibly need with you, as you can't buy anything in Thailand. Actually, a big backpack on your back and a smaller daypack carried on your chest is the most appropriate method of packing . . . (heavy sarcasm, less is best).

As for the bag, I really doubt you need one so big.

Like you did the first time???? 10 minutes you were driving through a fence.

I have Monday-Thurs in Bangkok by myself before my friends arrive. I have never been to Asia before. We're going to spend a few days doing the major stuff when we return to BKK later in the trip.

What should I do for the few days? Any suggestions welcome and appreciated!

Since you're prolly gonna do some tourisy stuff with your friends later, I'd prolly just PM one of the local 2+2er to see if anybody is going out and show you around BKK a lil.

I'm living in CM at the moment and it's awesome. The nightlife isn't as good as BKK but their are still lots of places to go. Read the sticky at the top of this forum, there's a section on CM.

One of the guys actually had one of those Thai helmets on, but when you are speeding like that you are going to die from injuries from other parts of the body anyway.

Sooo sick video there, about 3/4 of the head is gone on one of the guys..

I'm staying in a 5 bedroom house that is in the city and it's only 19k a month. It's super cheap here compared to BKK and Phuket.

That house you posted link for is in Hang Dong though which is around 20-30 mins away from the city and the road is a nightmare to drive down

I try again, i need an apartment in karon/kata for 3 months from July.. Anyone that have rented an okay room there for long term, under 17K baht a month.

I need:
1. Stable internet(best if it is included so i don't have to pay for 1 year subscription)+generator in the building
2. Furnished
3. Kitchen with ref.
4. Quiet area, not a lot of traffic etc outside

Or is there any good sites on the web i should try?

http://www.katabeachstudio.com/

This place has a board utside advertising 15K/mo and has wifi which may or may not be playable.

As a start its decent an if you shell out 8k for an aircard you have your own travelling interwebs. alltogether with aircard included still around 17K/mo

Regarding foreign girls in SE Asia:
Meeting/banging them is 10x easier than home unless they're from your country. Then you have no chance. Literally no chance.
Generally they'll be less attractive than backpackers in europe or Australia. This is because they figure they'll be roughing it and will stop wearing makeup, shaving, wearing nice clothes when they go out, etc.
Any attractive foreigner you see will either be with a boyfriend or exactly two ugly friends.
