wow visa questions are really often answered and easy to reasearch but here is your answer:

arriving by plane u get 30 days and arriving by land u get 15 days, you cannot do this infinetly

The best option is to get a tourist visa which allows you a 2 months stay plus optional 30 day extension, vientiane is giving out double entry tourist visas so that would be my choice. The next best wold be phnom phen.

If all you need is an additional 30 days you dont need a visa, it is enough to leave the country and then come back by plane for your 30 days.

by land you can only get 15 days without visa but you dont have to go to any embassy for that. just cross the border and come back

you can do the by air thing for as long as you want. by land 4 times

this is what i would do. just book a flight to kuala lumpur and back. malaysia doesnt require visa so the only costs are food, taxis and plane tickets

What do you guys do for health insurance? Is there a good Thai based insurance? I was thinking about getting something from HTH Worldwide for $90/month.

I would probably get it from an insurance provider in my own country, as long as your tip isn't gonna be longer then 6 months.

CzGlory you need to check your power adapter ratings and compare it to the Thailand standard.

The only thing i had to buy was a adapter for my 3 pin plug cuz some places only use 2 pins. U can buy those at any Family Mart or 7-11. And wtf u asking these simple questions. You've already stayed in Thailand a couple months already :P

Thats y u need to check your power adaptor rating also. Prolly voltage. Mine is 100-240v rating. Which means u can use any in between. Not an electrician but i'm pretty sure this is how it works.

Not really any poker games cause it's so agasin't the law, there prob are some but it's gonna be hard to hear about them here. To rent a condo you prob want to stay at least 6 months, anything shorter then that and your options are very limited. The monthly rate fluxuates soo much depending on where you are and other factors, you can expect to pay between 300-1500$.

Would any of you Phuket experts happen to have tips on great hotel deals (or apartments for one month only) in Kata/Karon at the moment? Been searching for a bit and looks like there are some pretty nice offers around, but tons of choices too. Tropical Resort for 33k/mo is the best I've got so far.

Alternatively, would Phuket Town be an overall better choice? I just basically want plenty of restaurants and other necessities without masses of drunken idiots (Patong), and a nice place with a decent view.

And sorry, I know it's been discussed, but when I search the thread I can't jump to the posts I get as results.

Can you use your mod powers to merge the "New Thailand Thread" with this one since they're basically the same thread?

As far as restaurants go, Phuket Town is very similar to Kata/Karon/Patong.

Pros of PTown:
- Better accessability to malls
- Better nightlife
- Hotter girls
- Less annoying tourists
- Very thai feel to the city
- Cheaper apt rentals

Cons of Ptown:
- ~20 - 30 minutes to a nice beach and nai harn jungle and other 2p2ers

I lived in both Kata and Phuket Town. Both were good. If I went back to Phuket today, I'd probably choose to live in Phuket Town.

Firstly, thanks guys for all your help and answers!

Im planning on moving to Thailand mid next month and will be focusing on SSNL. I live in the United States and am still a little confused as to what my options/game plan should be concerning sites etc...

A few questions I have are

1. Are Euro sites (PP etc) now available to me through VPN or other methods?

2. What would be the best way to proceed with Cashouts?

3. What hours and sites do NL cash grinders frequent the most.

Thanks again for your time!

1. Euro sites are accesable without a VPN but I dont see how you would be able to play since youre still an american citizen.

2. Propably open a Bank Account in thailand and do bank transfer, works for me.

3. You can figuere that our by yourself by calculating the time difference.

Can I get more than one internet service in a serviced apartment? I'd really like to avoid service drops and I'd feel better with two connections. If that's not possible is mobile internet good enough for back up in Bangkok?
Ask us about Thailand! Quote

I don't think mobile internet is fast enough to grind on

you can get another internet service if you have a private phone line, then you can select your ISP by choice, installing takes about 2-3 weeks though and you are committed to 1 year contract usually

Hutch CDMA ev-do is perfectly fast enough to use as a backup internet service. Or even a primary link.

The cards are expensive to buy but the contract is pretty cheap.
