In fact, this may be even more profitable because of the hours they lose when compared to the hours lost that could have been spent grinding.
agree and disagree.

I surely understand that people want to get place hasslefree. I understand that for the first trip they make to thailand. After that, when you know how things work and what you want, i dont understand it. I rented an overpriced villa for 2 weeks for our first trip since i wanted something to be ready when we came here but the villa was far from perfect for grinding, though we didnt plan to grind during that time.

now that i have stayed over a year here (one year and two days actually !) i am willing to spend a lot of time to find a place that has everything for me and i did find one and spend about 3 weeks negotiating and making sure it had everything that i needed and still there has been some problems with the house.

my point is that even when something looks very good from the outside you cannot just rush into signing a lease before you check out some things and usually you just cant know enough in just a few days.

also i am talking about signing leases longer than 6 months, not just some holiday apartments most of you come here to stay at. I plan on staying here atleast several years more but i can also understand people who just want their place to be ready fast because they are only staying for couple of months.

also, making sure everything is ok beforehand might save you more money than the money you save grinding the extra few days

ok, i'm pretty sure we're in agreement. obviously you should do some groundwork and not just order the first place you see off the net. personally, i had a good experience with katamanda in phuket, which is why i decided to stay there again. and i chose to stay in my current apt in bkk after only looking at 1 or 2 other places because i love the location and building and i'm getting a decent price for the place. could i have a nicer place for the same value? probably. but that would have meant probably weeks of searching and i just would have hated doing that.

if i planned on living longer here longer (6mo +) i would just find a reasonably fair priced apt, sign a one month lease, and look for something better during the course of that month.

This is such a sad attempt at pretending like you're new to the forum. Hmmm so a newb user signs on in may, reads the Thailand thread, finds it entertaining and makes it his first point to defend bkkdude (RIGHT after he got banned too! What a coincidence!).

Although, I urge you, please keep pretending like you're someone else. You do realize, of course, that this means you're not allowed to use "...............lol" ever again (otherwise we'd know who you really are)

Out of curiosity, say you pick up a gal from, not one of the Agogo bars, but a nightclub/disco or whatever, and she is a freelancer so to speak, is bareback typical or is using condom standard play here? Or.. do you sometime not remember from boozing it up too much lol

I know the filipina pros often don't require jimmy hat use(many factors to consider: the Catholic church frowns upon birth control methods, they'll trust a younger dude, often they want a lighter skinned baby, and sometimes they just don't give a hoot)

Standard play is to play off girl. If she say comdon alls good. If she say no need you better wonder why. Dont know if you still have to pay if no sex occurs though. Maybe still need to pay 2k cab fare.

my advice, don't gamble with this **** and always use protection
if she goes with you the first night, then she does this a lot, don't think it's because you're a stud, and chances that she has something nasty is obv a lot bigger, you don't want to spoil your fun holiday by getting some nasty **** on your ****

Heres my apartment

http://news.samuiexpress.net/clients/aumpai/aumpai.html
http://www.cafe--europa.com/aumpai_luxury.html

It has

bay window that overlooks the entire town
private kitchen
swimming pool
4mbit internet with TT&T
Daily cleaning service.

It was built a year ago. All the fittings/wardrobes/cupboards etc are pure class.

Its 5 minutes walk from the beach, 10 minutes walk from the bars and clubs.

For this I pay 14,000 baht per month, plus an additional 1000 baht for internet. Electricity is 2000 a month or so. Those are the only things I pay. If you were staying on a yearly basis you would probably get it even cheaper. I pay month by month.

Sorry I don't have more pics of it, I dont have a camera.

But this is typical of what 15,000 a month gets you anywhere in Thailand if you know how to shop around. The previous poster advertising his room wanted twice that for 1 room that isn't nearly as nice as mine, and had no services included in that price.

BTW I would definitely recommend this place for any 2+2ers planning on coming to Samui. It is one of the only hotels/apartments on the island that has a fast, reliable internet connection for grinding. Also the owner is an American-Educated Thai so there are no language problems with management. You should call them if you plan to stay though, as their occupancy rates are quite high (for obvious reasons)
